http://uk.eurosport.yahoo.com/25112007/58/ralf-want-mclaren-drive.html He goes on to say he feels good enough to take on and beat LH. LOLOLOLOL ok Ralf!! It's good to be confident but geeez!!!!
He should tell Mclaren, "If I don't beat Lewis Hamilton in the first six races, I'll let Michael take my place". Then he'll get that seat.
Hahahahahahahaha. Ralph, you're killing me. It would be good for Ferrari to have Ralph at McL. We can only hope.
The choices for the McCheaters are getting smaller and smaller, and unless they act soon they'll have to choose between Pedro de la Pink or Ralfy.
I really wonder if he believes he has ANY chances on a MCL cockpit. The situation should have been clear when there wasn't any response from MCL when he first expressed his wish some weeks ago. Reiterating it won't improve his position.
When Ralf wants to perform he does it well above average. With a car that can win, I am not so sure I would be laughing too loud. If he keeps his focus he might surprise in a ride lik McLaren.
You have a better chance of getting the McLaren drive than Ralf. He's done in F1, it's time for him to move on. There is nothing more pathetic than an aging diva.
Really? Anyone have Ron Dennis' phone number? And you are right, chances of Ralf landing at McLaren as one of two drivers is somewhere between none and zero.
Thank you sir. Ralf's F1 career was over years ago. He's not good enough for a test driver spot - on any team!
I think Ralf should hang it up as well, HOWEVER, I wouldn't be surprised if he did end up as a Mclaren driver. This is F1 we're talking about and stranger things have happened. Consider this ... the team needs a clear #2 driver that will support LH. Ralf would probably be decent in that role. He's also German. He'd probably drive for close to nothing to have a shot at a top team. I'd say he has as good a chance as anyone else right now ...
I don't see how Ralf would be a good fit at McLaren at all. The fact that he's already saying he could outrun Hamilton shows he's anything but a good lil' subservient #2 driver. Quite the opposite - he would go there thinking his "experience" should get him anything he wants. The only reason he would drive for almost nothing is that he's trying to prove himself. A driver who feels they can do no wrong and is trying to prove themselves is a dangerous thing - every time he DNF's, he will start complaining publically about the team (just like he did at Williams and Honda). He will slam his teammate, and his engineers, and his team, and his car. He's IMO the furthest thing from a team player you can get.
Ralph must have glaucoma because he must be smoking weed to relieve the pressure in his eye balls if he thinks he's good enough to be in Formula 1, let alone at McLaren. Dear Herr Ralf: Conen zee share der weeden you smoken?
+1 All those on this site who were comparing Alonso to Hitler (yes, it was done on this board) ought to take a long, hard look at Ralf's antics.
Can't blame a guy for trying. He won a few races in the BMW days and went into a crappy car after that.
