eBay 365 GTC/4???

i think thats the going price...i don't think its over priced..it has book/tools and been serviced.....check it out if your in the markekt...i also think silver looks best on the c/4...mo

 

This may be the first time that GTC/4 carbs have been described as "downdrafts".

Given there are only about 400 of them left in the world, that is about the right price, its a Euro version, high serial number with subtle improvements (for the details see Ferrari Life Buyers Guide for the 365GTC4).

 

i know the purist's would scream, but change that interior to red(oxblood!) and that is one of my favorites

C4 is somewhat easier to live with in terms of drivability than 330GT's, but there is a maintenance issue re exhaust valve adjustment every 15K miles...carbs must be removed ( manifold integral with cam cover), motor has to be jacked up to get access, and the carb linkage is best undisturbed. If I remember right the whole setup can be removed as an assembly, which simplifies things.

This was thought to be a big deal untill the advent of the motor out service on some of the mid engine stuff; now it does not seem so bad.

330s are real straight forward to work on. There are also less C4s (500) than 330Gt's. Both cars have detractors re styling. I have had a 2 headlight, have a 4 headlight 330 and have a C4. I have been happy with them all.

 

That's about the best color combo to minimize the "clown nose" bumper, IMO....

As the Daytona values rise these cars have been carried along..

He has it right in the first description, they are side drafts and as mentioned a &*(^*(^&*() to work on, in the engine bay.

But as another poster commented it's all relative, now that you see the engine packaging of the modern Ferraris!

 

That was a good car, fair price...whoever bought it will be smiling, last of the Vintage road going V12s........well, until the F50 anyway!


A manual tranny as well, many of these had an automatic fitted......

 

Ultimate in "whole assembly" removal. One of our C4 colleagues on 365GTC4.com managed to take out the engine and trans in a unit. He said he never do it again.

Note thecarbs STILL had to come off.

 

Tom Yang has a series of posts and photos in his RESTORATION DIARY about a C4 with a cracked piston, it will give you some sense of what is involved in pulling the carbs and accessing the valves. As above, as much of a pain as it is, and I have done it myself its just time (you don't have to jack up the motor) but it is its still easier than any of the engine outs in the 8s

 

Here is how one of our own attacked that issue. Its a point deduction but still looks great!

That car has been for sale for a little while for $80k so you're probably not too far off.

Ken and Daveb Thanks! Those are stock springs and shocks, just set as stiiff as they go, rims are stock RW 4075s, tires are P4000s.
