Hello, Anyone interested in a private track day at Firebird west? We have the track reserved for Friday Nov. 30th. So far there are six confirmed drivers (including a Ferrari 599!) and will cap attendance to fifteen to keep the track from getting crowded. This is an excellent opportunity to get your car out on track without forty other cars in your way. Not to mention the insane amount of time you will be able to spend scraping rubber off your tires! The track costs $3300 for the day and we will just divide that by the number of drivers. So bring as many cars as you like! Passengers are allowed so bring the significant other and family/friends! Don't forget helmets! List of expected cars; * Ford GT White/Blue * Superformance GT-40 * Superformance Daytona Coupe * Ferrari 599 * Porsche 997 Carrera S * Subaru STI More Info..... Tracktime from 8 to 5. We can get there earlier to set up. No schedule, there should be so few people you can go pit when you want. We'll lay down some ground rules and limit it to 8 cars on track at one time. Yes there will be rescue, that is included in the track cost. There will not be corner workers but hopefully there will be cone brake and apex markers. No food or drink, unless you want to order it beforehand. If you would like an instructor one can be arranged from 300 to 450 a day.
Challenge64, This is an open event, no schedule aside from gate open/closed times. You will be able to drive as much or as little as you wish. We will have a drivers meeting conducted by an instructor to go over track rules ect. Please call or email if you would like to join us! Jeff Boulais 602-763-0911 [email protected]
Yes... sort of. Scott Harrington of The Vanhorssen Group called me to ask if my Dad and I would be interested in renting the track on Nov. 30th. He explained that the clubs event needed to be rescheduled but they had a few clients that wanted to bring their private cars. Scott thought a minimum of six drivers would be needed to justify renting the track. In my correspondence with Scott we have never talked about restricting drivers to groups. Are you considering coming?
I just got an email from Scott. I'll paste it in here.... If you could, please have everyone fill out this reg form. I have your personal info below, but if you could make sure everyone fills out driving info and payment preference that would be helpful. Price: Right now we have 8 people so it will be about $420 per person. I will bring drinks too, so I'll tack on an extra $20 for that. Schedule - We will be running the track from 8am - 4pm. Let's try to get most people to show up at 8am to go through an overview and safety briefing. Format: It will be NON-RACE lapping session. We can provide driving instructors if needed, but I need to know beforehand. Directions - To get to Firebird take the I-10, exit Wild Horse Pass Road and go west. Take the first left onto Maricopa Rd. Enter Firebird through Gate #3, the main entrance for Bondurant. Firebird West is the track on your right; entry to it is just passed the main ticket gate on the right. Park anywhere on the large skidpad. Map attached. Link to directions here: http://www.google.com/maps?hl=en&q=Firebird+International+Raceway&fb=1&near=Chandler,+AZ&cd=1&cid=0,0,9542598048089655695&li=lmd&ie=UTF8&ll=33.274,-111.971884&spn=0.041764,0.064201&z=14&iwloc=A&om=1 Documents - Everyone needs to sign the reg form and upon entry to the track, please sign the waiver and release. Dress - Helmets are required. We will have some if you do not have one. If you have a helmet, bring it. Footwear is important; soft athletic shoes/tennis shoes are best, no open toe shoes. Hats and sunscreen are handy too. We will provide beverages and may order pizza for lunch. But please feel free to bring any refreshments you would like. Email me at Jboulais@gmail and I will send you the registration form.
I don't know how many Scott will bring but he will have some. I wonder if there are any to rent at Bondurant?

All, It is not necessary to notify me or anyone else to join this event. You may simply arrive at Firebird raceway, fill out the necessary docs, listen to a short speech on track rules, and drive! Also, If you plan to bring one car but you AND a friend/relative would like to drive you will only be charged for ONE driver. Please be at the track and ready to listen to the previously mentioned speech at 8am! If you would like to talk to me about any details, please feel free to call me. Jeff Boulais 602-763-0911
One of our attendees is going to bring breakfast for everyone! Please plan on eating breakfast sandwiches and drinking coffee at the track!!
I posted this in the SECC thread, but didn't get any response. Would it be possible for me to come out and do some photography? How close would I be able to get to the track (I don't have a very long lens)? Just thought it might be a nice opportunity to get some nice shots of some awesome cars at the track... especially if it's overcast. That being said, I'm not sure I'd be able to make it anyway.
Pat, you are absolutely welcome to come out! I really don't know how close you can get to the action but it will be a pretty relaxed atmosphere so...?? Hope you can make it!
Well, I'm about to head that way in about an hour. Hopefully I'm not the only one, haha. Though, anyone who's going to be driving and is actually going has probably already left by now.
Left and come home already. The good times lasted till noon or so. Im sure Pat will have some incredible pictures soon!
It was nice to see you out there. Always great to see, and especially hear a CS driven hard. Shame the 599 was a no-show, I was really looking forward to that. Here are a handful of pics I edited quick. I should end up with a lot more.
