His recent lap times suggest he hasn't lost it and to be honest i think he is / was the best all round F1 driver ever, despite moments of sheer madness.

When you think these guys work in milli seconds who can blame him for the errors of judgement.

I sincerely hope he does return but that is wishful thinking (in a ferrari of course).

But then you have to ask yourself, why would he? In my opinion he was hounded out of F1 by the journalists and so called experts.

thats true. when Mika made a PR stunt comeback, he was 3 secs off the pace, which i think is pretty normal. but when MS came back, all i can say is wow.

Wasn't Mika's test four or five years after his last drive in an F1 car? Michael's was only a year after. Not that it would be that big of an advantage, but I think not being out of the seat for as long would help him a bit.

"I do miss racing; the competition," Schumacher is quoted as telling the Italian sports newspaper La Gazzetta dello Sport.

Get that $100.00 ready he's feeling it!

That's just about the safest $100 there is. If Schumacher wanted to race alongside Kimi, he would have been in the car for 2007. He spent his entire career avoiding sharing a car with a frontline driver, now that he is retired you suddenly think he is going to jump into the Ferrari and race alongside kimi?!? You'll have a better chance of seeing the Easter Bunny.

The $100.00 will be the only bill that currently will never be spent, because you'll never get it... because MS will not come back.

Didn't you hear him at his press conference last year? He said "no backsees".

Point, set and match to the well dressed man.

Schumi would mop the floors with Lewis. Lewis is good in a controlled environment, otherwise he's mediocre. Schumi can improvise and think outside the box which is why he has 7 WDC's... Schumi would destroy Lewis, wouldn't even be close...

PLEASE dont compare Lewis to MS. Let Lewis win 3 or 4 titles and then maybe......is this sport really so stupid or is it just the fans?
Look at Villeneuve he even beat MS to the title 1 year. i guess he was a better driver? Drivers need to stand the test of time. Any one year or even cupole of year period doesnt mean **** in this sport.....this isnt gymnastics.

    Someone's delusional.

So, let's see here. Schumacher was beaten by Alonso twice so we'll assume that Alonso is close to or equal to Schumacher's abilities.

Lewis almost beat Alonso in equal machinery in his rookie year. So, we could surmise Lewis is probably equal to Alonso's abilities.

Now, given that Alonso has beaten Schumacher twice in comparable, but not equal, machinery what really makes you think that Schumacher would "destroy" Lewis who's Alonso's equal?

The question is how would Hamilton fare against Schumacher right now. While I don't know if Hamilton would beat Schumacher over the course of a full season yet, I do expect that Hamilton would be very competitive and would certainly NOT be destroyed by Schumacher as others here would believe. Hamilton is the real deal and a definite WDC in the future and some her, myself included, think he is the next great F1 champion.

To say that Schumacher would wipe the floor with Hamilton is sheer folly.

Right now Hamilton would be at least an equal to Schumacher if not downright beat him. Simply based on the logic applied by Senna21.

Schumacher at the height of his abilities in 2004 is a different story. I'm pretty sure he would have beaten Lewis of 07 back then.

Age does diminish a driver's abilities. It happened to MS, somewhat visible in 05 and quite visible in 06, which is one of the reasons why he lost LdM's support. It will happen to Lewis one day as well.

I think it is a possibility, not a good one but a possibility. The man is testing the new F1 car, racing karts, and in Moto GP. He is inching his way back into F1. I'll let you know where to send the $100.00 bill!

Corrina has made it known if Michael races F1, then she races home to her parents with the kids... With Michael gone all the time their marriage was going down the tubes and that's another reason Michael slowed his life down as his family is more important to him than racing. Since he is a busy body all the time, he get's out and tests and races charity events to keep him happy, but a life on the road won't be happening.... Michael is truly retired, will help in car development, do charity work, be part of the FIA for the UN but you won't be seeing him in a FIA sanctioned F1 race ever again...

That under pressure, he completely blew the WDC... Again Schumi would mop the streets with the little rookie loser who cracks under pressure... Proof of that is the fact that Alonso tied him and Kimi beat him and he had it all tied up with 3 races left to go in the season.... Hamilton can drive, I give him that, but he lacks the maturity and intelligence of Schumacher. I would bet that Hamilton doesn't even get two WDC's in his entire career.. Any takers on that bet?

Let's look at the time sheets after testing at Jerez and tell me how fast everyone is.. In 2006 we all saw a burned out Schumi who had given his all for the team, this year we see a man who has rested and in love with the sport again..
