At least I got to feel like we were the champs for about ten seconds! To me that was probably one of the best college teams I have ever seen. I saw UM for 3 games that year IIRC. Clarett got what he deserved in the long run. BT
If Ohio State makes it into the championship game, someone PLEASE destroy them, AGAIN. Mizzou and WV have earned their spots; OSU has a lot of media help behind it's ranking. Take away the name, judge on the numbers and the field, and the Buckeyes are, even with only 1 loss, heavily overrated.
If we DID have an eight team playoff system, here's how it would look today: #1 Mizzou vs #8 SoCal #2 West Virginia vs #7 LSU #3 Ohio State vs #6 Virginia Tech #4 Georgia vs #5 Kansas Of course, that's before the conference championship games(at least for those conferences who have them). I believe everyone but Ohio State still has to play.
First off, Thug U was robbed of that championship by the refs. Second, Miami would've won in regulation had McGahee's knee not been taken out with 11+ minutes left.
Yes, that news spread around quickly here in DC (home of the Redskins). RIP, it's terrible his daughter will grow up without a father.
Yes, I believe both statements are true. It is still the reason I was rooting for the gators last year against tOSU. BT
I'm starting to agree with Les Miles..... No team has been able to beat LSU in 4 quarters of football. Both losses were in triple overtime, and college football has some screwed up overtime.
I like the collee football overtime deal much better than the pro version. The only real disadvantage is if the first offense scores a TD, then the next team essentailly has all 4 downs to go for the TD, when the original squad would normally only go for a field goal if they are not close to the TD after 3 downs on a given set of downs. At least each team has a chance to win (or extend) the overtime. I know the Arkansas game was a 3-ot deal, what was the other loss (Auburn IIRC)? BT
It was Kentucky in 3 OT's as well. I don't like starting at the 25 yard line. I think it needs a kickoff and go from there.
That would be good also, as long as both teams got a shot at a drive starting with a kickoff return. I doubt we would have more than 2 overtimes using that scenario. So 2 triple overtime losses to KY and Arkansas. A very good regular season for your team! I read a rumor that our coach has released some players from their scholarships... BT
According to a family friend and former attorney: The alarm system was turned off because his significant other's sister had been staying in the house and wanted her to be able to come home at all hours w/o setting off the alarm. This was 8 days after an attempted robbery in the house. Sean locked the bedroom door when they heard loud noises downstairs. He got a machette from undr the bed and opened the bedroom door. He was shot once in the groin. The other bullit went into the wall. His significant other and their 18 month old child were in the bedroom. They were not hurt. The significant other tried to use the house phone to call the police. The phone did not work so she immediately called on her cell phone which did work. Sean lost much blood and passed out. He never recovered consciousness. Lessons learned. Turn on your alarm system. Don't confront unknown persons who may have a gun with a machette. Call the police and wait for them to arrive. RIP
It might turn all right for the Trojans! One win away from the Rose Bowl. But the day sucked when i heard they're thinking about moving USC games next year to the Rose Bowl Stadium, instead of the Coliseum. That would suck if that happened, no more walks from the tailgate to the Stadium or just going to the dorms right after the games. But wait in long ass lines to take the shuttle back to USC. Bad, Bad, Bad...
So, they don't count as losses in your book? Gosh, if we went back to ties instead of overtime, what kind of drama do you think we'd have then? Like it or not, a loss is a loss. In the college game, ties have been eliminated, and a winner eventually has to come from each game. It may not be perfect, but, just like every other little detail in this BCS mess, overtime is something that, whether you like it or not, is part of the game right now.
You won't believe what my co-worker said yesterday when we were talking about his death (he's a big Redskins fan btw). "Don't bring a knife to a gunfight." TOO SOON
I'm on the same page. Being a huge Hurricane fan, I really hope Ohio State does NOT go to the Championship game. That '02 loss still kills me too. Anybody but OSU!!!!
I'm completely fine with OSU getting into the championship game. As long as they're blown out. Overrated State University is what they should change their name to.
I'm just saying no team has beaten LSU in regulation. The overtime rules are as F uped as the whole BCS mess. I'm not that upset by triple overtime losses , i mean it's not like LSU lost to UL Monroe.
A loss is a loss is a loss is a loss. Any way you slice it, every team has to play by the same rules, and losses in overtime count as much as a blowout. But they did lose to UAB.
