I believe so. The only history I could find is in 1985 it was at Auto Toy Store and that the current owner is Jim P.? The things I found just by looking at the pictures was painted bumpers, stereo system added, and I think it might have a Tubi. Good luck bidding on it.

    Jeffrey,

The owner of this one also wants tall money. I cant blame him, so lets see how it fares... it is the first of the 72 post-homologation cars. Ive seen it, inspected it & driven it. Circa 1,800 km on the clock it was built to order for Lee West/Newport Imports.

Painted bumpers is wierd, plus as I look at the interior pictures they don't say 1863 "Miles" to me. My car still has its km odometer, so if this truly has an mph speedo its been changed at somepoint. (mine has mph readings as a transfer on top of the original km speedo).

Joe - Were you quoted a number when you inquired about the car? Tall as in $600k+? :( Also, is there any negative information on the car that you know of?

More than $600k. He wanted $700k.

Nothing negative about it Im aware of.

The odometer is in fact in Kilometres. The Ebay report as miles is erroneous.

The pics are very poor and do not represent the interior properly (its very nice actually with no flaws).

I dont like the red bumpers either.

The factory did paint the front bumper red on at least one very early GTO but they left the rear bumper black. The Canadian 1985 GTO that went back for the factory auction to be sold was better than this one. How come practically nobody cleans the floor mats when they are trying to sell a car?

Believe it or not when my first euro 360 Modena was "converted" at G&K (registered importer) here in California - they changed the faceplates to show miles per hour but the digital odometer still registered in kilometers. It was very strange. Perhaps this is the case with the 288?

I believe Joe means any car built after the required 200. Joe?

Ferrari kept on building them because people, from Dealers, Rockstars, Race Car Drivers, Rich Boys, etc. were still pissing and moaning to the factory that they wanted one. So, Ferrari kept building them, some from spare parts. Ever wonder why GTO parts seem to be made out of unobtainium?

Then there are the post-production GTOs built for oil-rich. Those cars are not included in the 272.

First 200 cars were the Homologation requirement of 200 cars for 'Group B'. Then there were 72 post-Homologation cars. The EBay car was the first of 72. Interesting.

Armen your fantastic car is indeed one of the 72 cars that received Enzo Ferrari's blessing to accomodate the Kings, Queens and Racing Drivers. LOL.
