    Sterling .... Nova .... same difference. Whatever ! :D

In standard form, probably one of the nicest early VW-based kit cars ever made - not neccessarily a 'replica' of anything, except possibly the Adams brothers' Probe 16:

Nice choice of paint / wheels, too. :)

    That Probe 16 was ugly.

Sterlings are making a comeback see www.sterlingsportscars.com now you don't need a VW chassis anymore ;)

Thats actually not a replica but a cheesey orginal design the guy made for his kids to drive around in and if you ask me its pretty good although it still looks stuck in the 80's and could use a major overhaul it still looks good.

The 50K is for the "plug," not the kit. I'm guessing he thinks his design is worth 50K, and God love 'em for thinking that. Won't help him get the money, but he can enjoy himself woth the thoughts.

I figure there is another 100k or more needed to create a viable Kit business from his "plug." yikes!

    Shiny Side Up!

The cars plug has got alot of potental, its got Mclaren F1 but iam sure with alittle time and money you could have something much more unique than any of those cars you just listed. Don't get me wrong out of that list id take a countach over anything else on the road if givin that choice.

The guy put alot of time and work into that project by itself. I talked to the guy over on the kitcar forums, The last time I talked with him was about ayear ago and by that time he had plans of doing a complete tube chassis that would accept almost any engine and tranny setup. The car was suppose to use Corvette C5 suspension and brakes.

He also had an enzo project as well as a Saleen and an Murcielago roadster he was working on. The he got alittle creative with the designs he was doing and started to mix them up alittle bit.

Me personally id buy that plug if it didn't cost 50k, maybe like 2k we can talk but not a brand new car.

I don't want to bust your chops for being a fan of replicas, but IMHO, when it's a high-tech car like the McLaren F1, a fiberglass body and small-block chevy just seems cheesy. It it were something like a Lola T70, with replicas being indistinguishable from originals, it would be a different story. I'd love to have one of those myself. The McLaren replica reminds me of a Laser 917; a flimsy fiberglass body on a Beetle floorpan.

Again, not busting your chops. I just think it's odd to replicate such a magnificent car with fiberglass and a tight budget...and I'm anything but wealthy.
