Saw it in a exotic car dealership in an alley near Old Brompton Road in London. The people inside were a bunch of pricks.

Beautiful and rare car nonetheless.

IMO the 275 in the back of this picture is the car next to the the F40. Ex Douglas Jamieson 275 sold to Paul Michaels of Hexagon and now again for sale.

After the BPR GT Championship's successful inauguration year in 1994, several top teams were attracted by the prospect of quality GT racing for 1995 After one of Michelotto's F40 GT's had run well in 1994 (chassis 90001), the RFR Sport outfit were convinced that Ferrari's F40 LM could prove itself a competitive entry - even against state of the art McLaren's

Run under the Pilot Aldix banner throughout 1995, chassis 74045 had originally been one of Ferrari's F40 prototypes and USA showcar (explaining its very early chassis number) and was later rebuilt by Michelotto to LM specification for Rene Herzog. Delivery took place in May 1992 but the car wasn't subsequently raced until RFR bought it from Herzog.

In conjunction with campaigns in the BPR GT seasons of 1995 and '96, RFR Sport twice entered their distinctive blue F40 LM in the most prestigious endurance race of all - the Le Mans 24 Hours. By the mid nineties, the ACO's revised class regulations had all but outlawed fully-fledged prototypes, opening the field up to a plethora of genuine GT cars, many of which were in with a real chance of outright victory. Despite going into the 1995 24 Hour race with a slightly questionable reliability record, 74045 would undoubtedly have the speed to give a good account of itself in the early stages.

Turning up at la Sarthe wearing the familiar Pilot Aldix livery, 74045 was driven by experienced F40 peddler, Michel Ferte, his regular team-mate, Olivier Thevenin and Carlos Palau - The team used a special reinforced gearbox for Le Mans and along with the F40 GTE's of Ferrari Club Italia, the Ferrari's dominated GT1 qualifying by taking the top three positions in category, the two FCI entries being split by Ferte who started seventh. Come Saturday afternoon and three hours into the race, 74045 was somewhat surprisingly still running. More than that, it was 12th overall, just three laps adrift of the lead works-backed McLaren. Gradually gaining positions here and there, the RFR drivers eventually climbed as high as eighth by 6am on Sunday morning and there they stayed until just after 11:30 when Ferte took a trip into the gravel. Although he was able to continue after being pulled out, 74045 dropped four positions. Thereafter running reliably through until three o'clock on Sunday afternoon, RFR had seemingly achieved the impossible with their ageing F40 and completed the entire 24 hour race. They finished 12th overall and sixth in the very competitive GT1 class - Ferrari's first Le Mans finish in many years. Ferte and Thevenin were back in 1996 along with Le Mans debutante Nicolas Leboissetier, but despite featuring a number of tweaks to the bodywork and engine, the F40 was unable to repeat its achievement of the previous year. Shortly after midnight, Ferte was forced to retire when a leak in the fuel tank.

Today 74045 remains the most famous, successful and recognisable F40 LM, since being retired from competitive international racing has been carefully stored and survives in its original Aldix / Pilot livery. It has been fully rebuilt and is ready for use in a variety of events worldwide including GT 90s Revival series which is a new event run by one of the founders of the original BPR organisation. Included is a comprehensive documentation folder various spares including a complete set of wet tyres mounted wheels, fuel churn and the stregengthed sequential gearbox of the type used at Le Mans. visited cars international yesterday. didnt bother going in since walking space is limited. was better off taking pics from the outside.

they have a new addition. 360 NGT. they also have a F40 prototype for sale. will post pics later.

also saw a stunning pagani zonda f clubsport 14/25 at london group. its the most beautiful thing i've seen till date.
