Another one from the same source - this time, for a change (from #0854) of the Ecurie Francorchamps-entered 'works' 330P4.

(Regardless of discussions elsewhere, I still have this image captioned as #0856 - for the moment).

O.K., Paul, so it took me a few months to track one particular car: David Austin's (then pristine) Noble P4 - chassis #012, and cleverly registered PEE 44, from your photos taken at Castle Combe and Brands Hatch in 1990 - to Lennart Uhlmann's unregistered 'basket case' restoration project (as it exists today) in the backwoods of Sweden. I didn't think that was bad going, myself. ;)

I'll admit that a few of those kind of 'loose ends' have occasionally taken me literally YEARS to tie up. :(

If you want to see a couple more examples, of how cars can change over the years - apart from their registration numbers, and turning up thousands of miles away, check out this thread in C,M,B&P:

Page 2: http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=7565&page=2 .... compare the photos in posts #39 and #40 and
    Page 3: http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=7565&page=3 .... compare those in posts #42, #52 and #54 !!

But thanks for your photos, just the same, Paul - very much appreciated :) - even if you had me scratching my head for a while. ;)

Nice one, Ed. :) - Did you get yours as a print on eBay, or is it an original photo ?

I received it as a gift. My friend found the pic at a swap meet in Delaware. Its not an original photo and I have no idea of who took the pic but it looks good. I did crop it a little to save some space ( I see yours is the full shot).

Keep the pics coming. This is my absolute favorite thread on the net!

Who is the driver taking his jacket off to get in? Is that one of the Rodriquez brothers? A great photo.

Ed. As I wrote previously, I picked mine up on eBay - admittedly very cheaply (only $9.99 !!).
It was allegedly described as a 'high quality giglée print', but to my untrained eye - it looks like an 'average quality inkjet' print ! :(
The colours are off, especially the gold of the wheels, and the whole print has a pink-ish tone to it.
I'd really like to get hold of a decent quality copy - hence my question: was yours an original photo ?

They're all over the 'Net at the moment - here's a couple of examples I found very quickly:

    http://www.allposters.com/gallery.asp?CID=&PPID=1&apnum=2105454

    http://www.art.co.uk/asp/sp-asp/_/PD--12546418/SP--A/IGID--2045876/Ferrari_P4_Daytona.htm

But I'm wondering if the quality of these would actually be any better. Someone somewhere must have the original photo.

Paul Skett and I have for years been searching for pics of the P-cars.
I remember telling him there must be loads of them in forgotten shoeboxes.
He said they will turn up eventually.

Paul my friend...you were so right.

Why is he crazy? I think he is nothing more crazy than those people who are discussing the VIN`s of the stupid 90ies TestaRossas!

Barrie is THE expert for the Maserati 250F that blew away any Ferrari in 1957 and his help and advise is very much appreciated by those who own this car that is one of the most beautiful -if not THE most beautiful- Formula 1-cars of all time!

    Ciao!

I said crazy in a GOOD way. Maybe there is a bit of a language barrier, and you didn't quite understand what I meant. I APPLAUD people like Hobkirk and John DeBoer for all the historical work they do on the cars we love.

Out of nineteen photographs eighteen were sold to Europe and just one to the U.S.A.. It appears that there is a much higher level of interest in Europe?
