Anyone else see the RL collection of cars on HDTV just now (Sunday night)? WOW! The man has impeccable taste. I have seen quite a few collections with more cars but never one with the quality and history of cars like his. I (for one) am super-impressed.

Anyone know when it'll be re-run or if we can buy a copy of the show? I was only able to see a few minutes of it and didn't get it on TIVO..

I was fortunate enough to see Lauren's collection in person in Boston a few years back. Yes, we are on a Ferrari board, BUT the Porsche 959 is absolutely stunning in person!

Mine too. I wish they had shown more about the restoration which was quite impressive I must say.

Ralphie has 2 or 3 McLaren F1s? One of those alone makes your collection great, and he has 3 of them :D.

On the show he said he got 2 of as many cars as he could so his children would not have to fight over them.

Was the museum in Austin? The setting was breathtaking. The curatorial theme was also interesting - aero at various stages leading to beauty derived from form

I KNOW this is a repost (no repost cards please :) ) but I figured the OP would like to see it.

An encounter with Ralph and his Veyron here in Colorado by a local FChatter:
    http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=159612&highlight=veyron

Its been posted alot on FChat and other discussion groups and DDemuro's pictures have spread to quite a few websites (is "Viral Pictures" a word?)

I don't know if anybody remembers this, but years ago (I think maybe late 80's) there was a TV special on Mr. Lauren, his cars, his harem of models, and his general lifestyle.

He was shown driving a red Testarossa, some of the best shots of someone actually driving this car I had seen (including Miami Vice).

I was instantly set straight on a couple of things -

    a) - not everybody in the fashion industry has a "testarossarone deficiency"...

    b) - someday I would own a red Testarossa even if it meant a divorce and selling the dog.

I still have the dog, BTW...

It's an impressive collection.. but I think you'll find that not everyone agrees with his restorations as the history and experience of the cars tends to get washed out in favor of factory originality (a term which is a paradox for some of these examples).

To each his own.. but it's just not for me.

The cover story last month of Men's Vouge is of him and his collection. Nothing new, but I found it interesting he took the author for a ride in his 430. Damn if it was me I'd be begging for a ride in the 250 gto, testarosa, Jaguar D type, McLaren, etc. anything but the 430.

A funny tid bit is his son is dating Lauren Bush.

Lauren Lauren if they get married.
