This looks great and what a price, Car fax says one owner as well. It also said had a side impact with a fixed object and the police report. I wish the ebay selling dealers would come clean and post this in there ad. I think it would help sell the car faster by being honest, instead of hiding that the car was hit.

Report the auction to eBay. The details state that the title is CLEAR. I'd set it to "other"...

Deplorable they wouldn't fess up, difficult to consider them as being remotely reputable after such a blatant omission.

If the title is clear, I don’t see how the seller is doing anything wrong.

Unless the insurance company gave it a salvage title, it will have a clear title.
Wrecked / repaired does not mean the title is not clear. In most states a wrecked / repaired car with a clear title does NOT have to be disclosed by the seller.

There is a foreign salvage yard in my area with a few high end cars that are totally destroyed (you cannot even tell what they are) with 100% free and clear titles.

I also know quite a few used car lots in my area that excel at buying wrecked cars at auction (with clean titles) fixing them for resale. They are NOT required to disclose the damage. If the car was sold with a salvage title, the title will say salvage or former salvage once it’s repaired and inspected.

Why would an insurance company not label every wrecked car as salvage? A car with a clear title will sell for more money at auction – it’s that simple.

Buyer beware - they are hoping to find someone that does not do a full check on the car.

Either way, I would NEVER guy a car from Daniel Schmitt & CO.

I worked as an auto claim rep for State Farm for 6 years. Actually an insurance company is responsible for the loss that a future owner of the car might take if the title was not marked as salvage. That is if the insurance company takes ownership of the vehicle.

What happens is the owners retain the vehicle by giving up some of the money on the payout, in effect buying the salvage vehicle.

The insurance company never takes ownership of the vehicle that way, so the title never gets marked as salvage.

We always had to tell the people they "should" have the title marked as salvage, but neither the insurance company or the vehicle owner were legally required to. That was in my state, most states have similar laws, but probably not all.

This is exactly why, I would never buy a car that carfax alerts a wreck, or damage of any kind. You have no idea what you are getting!!! Like I am going to run down to the DMV and say my car was crushes in a accident, could you please mark my title salvage.

The travesty IMO is it barely had any use.........then bam!!!! 14k miles in 12 years what a shame...... :( !!

I hope the new owner drives it more than the previous owner(s) did.....:(......

As I have said in the past........ "Ferrari's like hot women, will get old and maybe even wrecked wether one drives them a little or alot....!!! "

Have fun and drive hard :)!!! Life is shorter than it may seem.......;)

Is that a "shame" for the Ferrari-as-a-paper-weight years? Or the years with proper exercise? ;)
