CAN SOMEONE HELP ME WITH THIS QUESTION.
308 GTS is the carburetted model, 1976-1979. 308 GTSi was the initial fuel-injected model, 1980-1982.
Fuel injection on the i, plus a few minor changes like moving the clock and oil temp. gauge from the left of the steering wheel on the lower dashboard to the center console at some point. Were power door locks introduced with the GTSi, or was that later?
Lets not forget that the GTS had 14inch rims with 205/70 series tires and the GTSi moved to the metric TRX rim 390mm (15.354 inches) with 220/55 series tires
Probably the best thing the original post'er could do is pick up a copy of Keith Bluemel's Original Ferrari V8 book. There are numerous differences through the 308 range, and Bluemel does a good job with words and photos of describing them.
The QV's were never referred to with the "i" from the factory because all QV's were injected. No distinction had to be made with them. The little GTSi on the fuse panel is left over stock from the backs of the 2Vi. So, to be absolutely correct, the GTS is from 76-82 and then again from 83-85. (I know, who cares...)
So the early injected cars had no i on the fuse panel badge and got the carb's GTS or GTB badge and the QV's had i badges left over from earlier i cars.
My car is a 1980 and does not have power locks. I am not sure if any 2Vi did... Hmnn?? Also, 1980 GTSi came with 14" cromodoras the same as carbed cars...
First published in 1997. Yes it covers all v8s up to and including the 348 and touches briefly on the 355 in the front of the book.

So far this is the only useful book I've ever found on the 308-348. Very descriptive, not a 'fun' read, very useful photos and production stats, color codes, etc.
Have you ever seen the book on a shelf at your local bookstore? or should I just order it online? Appreciate your help, thanks.
I found mine at Borders. I've looked around though a few times for others and came up empty... I'd just order it online if its available.
My 1981 GTSi has power door locks and the drivers mirror was also electric until I replaced it with a new style of mirror. Jeff
Bought my copy from amazon as a used book for about 1/2 price. Book arrived in about a week looking like new. I agree it isn't a fun read. Very Technical, but still a great referrence to the differences between years and model changes. Good luck.
No one caught my mistake. That should be 76-SEVENTY NINE (not 82) and then again from 83-85. I simply listed every year the first time around. Sorry about that.
One of the best books you can get is "The Original Ferrari V-8" by Keith Bluemel. Barnes & Noble, E-Bay from time to time, Borders, etc... about $35.
