OMG! My heart is racing. I new this would happen once I bought one. Now I'm going like a madman to see how to come up with the funds for this one. Vince, you know what I'm talking about right? This always happens to me ... why? Was I that bad in a previous life? All I want is a nero 348SS. Son of a beeatch I'm freaking out here.
This is exactly why I forced myself to stop looking at ebay listings as soon as I bought my car.. but I did see this one the moment it popped up... and I know how you're feeling John. Then I thought about it, and i'm always leary about cars in IL, MI, IN, NY, New England etc... I worry about oxidation.. especially in cars that just sit. I dont care how well you try to take care of a car, aside from having a total climate controlled garage, theres nothing you can do to stop the effects of sub-zero temps and high humidity!
I dont know how many Series Speciale with black/black TS w/ Chrome wheels there are out there in this world...but...back in 1996 I helped a friend go buy an identical car from a dealer across the street from Symbolic in La Jolla, CA. We drove it back to his place in Phoenix. He kept the car for 2-3 years and sold it. No idea where it went. If a carfax shows a registration in AZ around that time, Im sure its the same car. Nice car too btw.
Vince and I hang out a bit..... but if you bought a 355...... we could be even better friends... yeah.... I bought a bit too soon price wise.. they have come down a bit since then.......but I knew the motor was solid...it just had the valve guides done just in time for me to enjoy.... !!! +1....
I've got a killer car already and it's a GTB/TB to boot. All I really need is the front lip spoiler and tail light treatment. It's the look I'm after more than anything. The lip is not a problem but the damn rear grill, spacers and end caps are. Oh well, maybe I need to be grateful for what I have and not worry about other cars....NOT!
Sharp looking car. Too bad it is missing the SS seats and grill. I am not a fan of chrome wheels. I didnt see any mention of the service being done.
Good eyes... *IF* this is the same car I am thinking about, it had the spoiler and the seats at that time my friend bought/sold it. He also had it serviced in AZ. But that would be at the official dealer Cavallino Classics..thats now Scottsdale Ferrari. Im pretty sure they didnt keep the records after the sale.
Your car has been very well cared for and the wheel/brake upgrades are nothing to sneeze at.... !!! Be happy!!! If you want a different car,........ get a 355 !!!
Ron, I believe the car you are thinking of was most recently offered for sale at Lamborghini of Las Vegas. It was owned by fellow F-chatter Verell. I considered buying this car but it needed a major and some misc. attention. The dealer was in no way willing to work with me on the price. As it turned out I got a much better car... just not an SS
I looked seriously at this car before I bought #64. Minor Carfax issue here. Mileage missmatch. I believe it is a mistake but can't prove it either way. There are virtually no records for this car. Its been for sale on various forums for nearly a year that I am aware of. This car went from California to Illinois in 2003. It had 21999 miles on it then...Its been sitting since.
Lambo of LV (Symbolic) doesnt ''work on prices'', all thier cars are priced at least 30-40% above what they're actually worth. They make thier money from clueless rich dip$hits, not informed, knowledgable and savvy buyers... we just piss them off! lol
I would have to assume that both those cars are somewhere collecting dust and will likely never be offered for sale in a forum you would be made aware of. #1 is probably in a museum or something... permanently.
They all do!!! fabric and leather is dry and faded. Engine compartment looks unkept. Less than 1000 miles in last 5 years. Car fax problem. No records. Skeptical is the best approach and describes why there's no bids. Lane
Not what I meant Chris... by ''forum''. I meant some sort of man-to-man or business-to-business deal... somone who knows somone else. Some NON-general public offering... not at a F-dealer, ebay, Barrett-Jackson, etc Hope that made sense... ive had a rotten day.
mileage issue. Its probably nothing but you can't fix a car fax. Kind of like a permenant record. Image Unavailable, Please Login
So much for the claim that there were only 80 of 100 SS cars made. Goth, dude, so it isn't a TB. You know how many SS TB's there are? Like 35 - and they never sell. So jump on this one. I am familiar with the area so if you wanna go see it, I'm in! Who cares about the seats? Big deal - you're gonna replace them anyway. This is your test bed for our projects! Go for it! I sure hope someone buys this car, but I am afraid the economy is impacting the market at this time of year.
