Oh, I thought you could just go ahead and substitute Jaguar 4 litre transfer gears? Right? Guys? Joe www.joesackey.com
Would anyone know perhaps were the Miura intro in the Italian Job was filmed perhaps? Was it the famous Stelvio Pass...? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xEl4UsVPWoY
Trust me there are no more Miura spare parts left at the bottom of that ravine. I have personally made sure of that Joe www.joesackey.com
I'm glad you didn't add yours! But no, salvage was not my intention... can you confirm though, whether it is indeed that road?
Its Not Stelvio.. according to Peter Robinsons article in the Oct 96 Autocar it the Grand San Bernard road which is just of the A5 between Mont Blanc and Aosta north of Turin...
Robinson also sold the same article to Classic & Sportscar for their December 1996 issue. Interesting stuff but who really cares? Joe www.joesackey.com
Seems so, I checked up on imdb and Valle d'Aosta is one of the shooting locations. The only one listed that could have roads like that. Thanks!
Menoy obviously does..... and you must have done at some point if, as you say, you have personally made sure of it! there was a question... it was answerd...
The SV went in to have its annual fluids service the other day and Claudio Zampolli who helped build this very car at Sant Agata in 1971 is happy to have an old freind back for a while. The connector pipe with surface rust in the 3rd image is off for ceramic coating (its an original mild steel peice). A nice peice of garage art for the Miura garage? Joe www.joesackey.com Image Unavailable, Please Login
Good gosh Joe! The underside of your car is so clean...even the shock springs show no paint chips. What makes it even more amazing is that you drive it. Looks better than new! Brian
Oh trust me, the pilgramage back to its Sant Agata birthplace is already in the works.... FEDEX can fly it there anytime. Joe www.joesackey.com
Yes I DO drive it... in fact I drove it the 32 miles from my house to Claudio's for this service! LOL. The fact that I drive my cars doesnt mean they need to become trashed or tired. Im careful, avoid certain roads and dont tailgate gravel trucks particularly closely :-0 Ive never understood the mentality that some espouse which suggests that because a classic is used its being destroyed. In fact 4884 gets BETTER with use as I continue to tune & fettle it. Youll be surprised what I find I can improve on it 1 year and 4 months after its epic resto was completed... With encouragement from my family, Ive decided to share it a bit more with the public again so next year you will see it at a few shows. Lets see how long before I get tired of waiting all day on a grassy field I will do it for just one season. Joe www.joesackey.com
