LOL!
Since this is at your own suggestion, pray tell us with exactly with how much regularity YOU exchange currency for titles, keys and cars? As you type your response, please remember that you are doing so in what you refer to as the fantasy realm of FerrariChat... LOL. With your theology in mind, Ill take your aforementioned appraisal to be complete fantasy then! Joe www.joesackey.com
Not that this should be proof of anything to anybody, but you may look at my profile photo and determine what I've acquired in the past few years, and you may also reasonably assume I've sold an equal number of exotic cars to make room in the garage. Oh, yes...then there is that magnificent gem that 410SA so kindly allowed me to adopt last weekend. This makes me nothing more than your average car nut who chooses to pontificate about things of no real importance in the fantasy realm of FerrariChat. If anyone cares, tonight it's Pinot Gris and Albacore on the grill.
Joe, for a used car salesman you're pretty offensive sometimes. You really should take a little more care before you take a swipe at someone you know nothing about.
No harm done. Joe is no greater an annoyance than my slightly overdone Albacore; a little tough and slightly fishy, yet if washed down with a fine glass of wine is pooped out and gone from your life 8-12 hours later.
Yes I took a close look and determined what you have acquired in the past few years as you suggested... Joe www.joesackey.com
Alex, my disposition towards Nerd is likely the same approach I adopt with those who have perhaps engaged in exactly what you describe: taking a swipe at someone you know nothing about.... One could be forgiven for thinking from your remarks that "used car salesmen" have a different set of rules by which they must humbly and subserviently confine themselves to. Surely you dont mean that As you well know, the line between salesmen and collectors sometimes no longer exists in reality, and when buying or trying to sell Ferrari Supercars, it pays to be open-minded in a relatively small world. Joe www.joesackey.com
Couch it any way you care to, but your "question" to nerd was condescending and disrespectful. And yes in this context where you participate on this forum as a sponsor, used car salesman is accurate. Expensive cars certainly, but used nevertheless and I assume one of your motivations in becoming a sponsor was to promote your business. You're hardly likely to endear yourself to potential customers by publicly questioning their ability to buy exotic and vintage cars, and Nerd is someone you should most definitely not be pissing off. This is a very small world, the world of people who are motivated to spend ludicrous amounts of money on old heaps needing expensive work, and the way you treat one is essentially the way you appear to treat them all.
I would love to have an F40 - I they are great - top of the list. If I was given the choice between 2 cars, and literally given one or the other, but I had to handle insurance, maintenance, taxes, etc. and couldn't just resell it - and the choice was - get this - F355 or F50, I'd take the 355 without hesitation. If the choice was 355 or F40, of course the F40.
sounds like clarkson talking ;-) I have spent a lot of time in and around the F40 and F50. The F50 takes it, hands down. The F40 is a legend no doubt...but that is an image conjured up mostly by Americans in my belief. I have spoken with a lot of europeans including Ferrari factory employees who have told me they "don't get" what Americans have for the F40. After many exhilarating experiences in the F50, I have to say the main reason no one knows what an incredible car it is, is that almost no one gets to drive them. Much smaller production than the F40, and very few have been driven by journalists. So most of the "word" on the street is based on pure speculation. Regardless, the details and improvements made between the 40 and the 50 are very, very evident when you stop paying attention to magazine stats and start driving.
I think a lot of the desirability issue comes down to style - "hitting the nail on the head" is what comes to mind with the F40. So, so "right." A timeless icon. The F50 is a blob of goo. A fast one, though.
I think maybe the fact it was the first true supercar, and Enzo's last creation have alot to do with that..... Not to mention it looks 100X better then the F50.
You must date real ugly women to have such a warped sense of beauty Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
It is my opinion and I am entitled to it. I never said the F50 is "ugly", I said the F40 is much better looking. Most of the world would argree with me. If you think the F50 is a beauty maybe you date ugly women and it has brainwashed you into thinking it is a beauty too........
Dear Comrade Richard, Well, perhaps you should visit the factory for yourself and where you will find the Ferrari F-40 to be the car that the staff cherish above all others. A similar sentiment is applicable to everywhere else in Europe and seemingly the rest of the world - including of course the Wonderful United States Of America. Best Wishes From England where the F-40 is also revered. With kind regards, 512 Tea Arer
It seems that there are a few different groups: 1. Those who have driven neither F40 or F50 and have a very loud opinion. 2. Those who have driven one (usually the F40) and have a better opinion. 3. Those who have driven each and have something to say. Excuse me, but I hate the fact that so many people call the F50 a "gob of goo", etc., etc., without ever having so much as sat in one and then worship the F40 from the same perspective. It strikes me that the people with the most informative and favorable posts regarding the F50 have the (enviable) advantage of owning it or at least driving one for an extended period of time. I don't think this is a coincidence, and I think that it attributes something special to the depth of the car. Incidentally these same people have very favorable things to say regarding the F40 as well. Sorry for ranting. Alex, more pics of that wonderful car (she's sexier because she wears mascera), please.
Points taken. But youll be surprised how many see right past this outmoded attitude towards salesmen (if I dare refer to myself as such) and solicit my involvement right off these very threads To the thoughtful and the perceptive, its much appreciated. Oh and yes, it is a very small world indeed... Joe www.joesackey.com
I have heard it time and time and time again that the folks at Maranello hold Enzo's last offering in absolute reverance above and beyond ANY other Ferrari.... Thats just what Ive heard. Joe www.joesackey.com

Dear Comrades, No one in the whole world owns cars like this for this is merely a photographic studio mock-up performed with one eighteenth scale models Alll good wishes from England. With kind regards, 512 Tea Are
Another photographic studio mock-up with a just acquired 1/18 "pumpkin"....Just prior to this snap, the F40 had been exercised on a spirited run in which gobs of cold dense air were hungrily devoured by the 2.9L screamer. Cold ambient air temps and warmed up tires = a bloody good time ! Image Unavailable, Please Login
