Dear Comrade Joe Sackey, This is our own thread Joe. The infidels will of course occasionally gatecrash thus to extrapolate for themselves all the minutest details of the Holy Grail - Classiche Certification. And indeed, what a fine tome it is. I shall say no more Joe for we shall have to continue our communications in secret via electronic mail. You will be aware of the staggering sum I have been offered for the English F-40 lightweight and which offer was of course underpinned by the Classiche Certification - as indeed you had always inferred that it would be. Thank you for your kind help in this regard for it is so very much appreciated. All good wishes from England. With kind regards, 512 Tea Are
Graham, In your Classiche package, did you receive one or two plaques that are supposed to be mounted somehwere via screws denoting that your car has been Classiche certified? And is it reccomended by Ferrari where these must be placed? Just curious... I have been shown these items and they are very nice indeed. BTW I am not at all surprised by the offer you received for your F40 being the last-of-the-series. But I should think you will want to hang on to it like grim death for that very reason, beating the suitors off with a very large stick. Cars that have a special placement in production are worth to some collectors exponentially more than production cars of no particular significance. Therefore you are a very lucky man as you simply have to name your price for your F40 (although those of us who know you better realize that hell would have to freeze over before that fine motor car will depart your climate-controlled garage). I suggest that all the tea in China would not be sufficient recompense for this particular car and if the buyer wants it so badly, suggest that he supply 2 standard F40s in exchange for your Holy Grail of F40s. By this method you too will become a multiple F40 owner. Joe www.joesackey.com Joe www.joesackey.com
Dear Comrade Joe Sackey, Yes, I do have the plaque. And I have thus far been terribly reticent on revealing that such a glorious appendage is extant and of course only available for fitment upon those lithe behemothic F-40's that have passed through the hallowed portals of the Ferrari Classiche Certification Emporium. But dearest comrade Joe, I crave your indulgence once more in proffering your omniscient opinion drawn from the temple of indomitable knowledge that you possess to such an infinite degree. So where the fucq do I fit the fucquing badge? It's been worrying me for four whole days now. I am just so frightfully concerned over the diamond encrustment that forms the perimeter and wonder should I have an entableture created thus that I may have it adorned upon the bonnet (hood). But will this cause dazzle to oncoming motorists I wonder. What is your opinion oh master? With kind regards, 512 Tea Are
I think you should fit it upon a second fusebox cover keeping the original unmolsted. Joe www.joesackey.com
Dear Comrade Joe Sackey, Yes, a very good idea. However, but how soon will it be before these things begin to appear on Ebay. Bless my soul and as true as I am sat here milkng this kangaroo, and having attended the 430 Scuderia launch on Tuesday I was informed today that the launch books are already on Ebay - I have checked, and it is indeed a fact! Dear Comrade 410SA, We've already got one - it's right here! This haven of peace and tranquility is a nirvane for my dear comrade Joe Sackey and myself. It is akin to a Masonic Temple in that only those initiated into the mystic arts of the Classiche Certification may enter it's hallowed portals. However, we may inititate you as an entered apprentice, but first you must swear allegiance to the sceptered plaque of the Classiche Certification. "Comrade 410SA, do you so solemnly swear to this oath of allegiance?" With kind regards, 512 Tea Are
Joe, I understand cars that go through the Classiche program without going to Italy are photographed and inspected at an authorized dealer. The photographs are thorough, even showing the internal engine numbers and so forth. But do you know why the assembly numbers are not included in the documentation...? I also understand that assembly numbers play a role in sourcing parts for various models, so it seems they are an important part of each car.
Because it's a big BS program designed to fleece Ferrari owners and it has no relevance in the real world.
I am embarassed to say that I have not sat down with John Amette who has altready finished the Certification process on my car to ascertain exactly what was covered, so I really dont even know. He saw my F40 back in July and asked if I would consider having it done and I said "Sure". Rest assured I will find out if the assembly numbers are used and if not why not, when I see him next week.. I agree that assembly numbers are a vital factor. Joe www.joesackey.com
Hmm. Lets see. So 410SA says the Classiche Certification program is a "big BS program designed to fleece Ferrari owners and it has no relevance in the real world". Very interesting. Certainly not everyone thinks they should spend the money on it and they are entitled to feel that way of course. But to actually cross the line and put in writing that Ferrari have created a system designed specifically to rip their customers off is not a wise move by any means. Many people read these threads and a bonafide racketeering accusation amongst its own customers wont go down very well in certain quarters... Many on the other hand feel that it is a valuable resource and therefore support it by signing up for it. Judging by the sucess of the program, most Ferrari owners share this view. Dear Comrade Joe Sackey, Yes, 410 SA has been a very naughty boy again. He has yet again written a terminologocal inexactitude. However, and for myself, I believe that Ferrari SpA and their hugely kind and altruistic dealerships throughout the world and even its close hinterlands in cyber space itself, will exonerate him completely. My analysis is that 410SA feels a little disappointed and perhaps even aggrieved that the high standards of the Ferrari F-40 Classiche Certification Survey Programme will, in all likelihood, fail his gorgeous F-40. I understand that 410SA may perchance have molested his wonderful F-40 with the fitment of after-market componentry. For example, the standards of the Ferrari F-40 Classiche Certification Survey Programme is such that it will cause an F-40 to fail should it possess the merest deviation from how the car was completed upon leaving the fountainhead of the Ferrari Temple in Maranello, Italy. The Classiche Certification is something that soon will become de rigeur in that it will be something to which all those Ferraristii with veteran Ferrari's, such as the Illustious F-40, will soon aspire - not least those of whom will seek to acquire an F-40 or some other veteran Ferrari at a later stage. Indeed, it will become a prerequisite. As it will for other veteran Ferrari. And of course Ferrari intend to make money from it - they are in business and that is what people in busines do. So, 410SA must remove the exhaust and then I am sure that all will be well. And at that point he will be welcomed into our Classiche Certification Temple, and inititated into the mystic arts of F-40 Custodianship - post Classiche Certification. There is of course a certain handshake which you and I will be only to pleased to divulge. So, 410 SA should now solemnly swear to undertake the Classiche Certification Survey Programme thus that he may enter the hallowed portals of this temple. The alternative of remaining in the wilderness is not a proposition that he should consider for a moment longer. The warm temple of Classiche Certifiction is the place to be! All good wishes from England. With kind regards, 512 Tea Are
Dear Comrade of 2worlds, I have merely endeavoured to convey an epexegistically perspicuous vignette of the quiddity via a concinnity of the apodictic, by a mere exiguous but panegyric luculent soliloquy of the sagaciously conjoined oligarchy of Joe Sackey and myself with regard to the Classiche Certification. All best wishes. With kind regards, 512 Tea Are
Or, could it be that rational business people and wise consumers avoid synthesized factory programs for which dealers must meet a quota? While some owners might genuinely subscribe to the certification as a service to confirm that their car is "right", the program along with the Ferrari Challenge series, driving schools, FXX programs, Corsa Cliente, etc., are simply cash cows for our dear friends on Maranello.
Dear Comrade Nerd, Yes. But many consumers of the Ferrari product enjoy all the things that you have highlighted. Ferrari, and many others have stated ad nauseam, are in business to make a profit. There is nothing wrong with this, and furthermore Ferrari do not force their customers to invest in any of the services that you have so kindly drawn to our attention. With kind regards, 512 Tea Are
Dear Comrade NNO, No, I merely sought to snare a pedant. All good wishes. With kind regards, 512 ea Are
All cars that participated in the 60th anniversary celebration concours in Maranello were required, I am told, as a pre-condition to complete the Classiche program? If you refused, entry denied I am told. The revenue benefit to Classiche was purely incidental I am sure...
I havent posted the info or pics yet, but my 328 went through the certification. Cool process and results, but I wouldnt have paid for my 328 to go through it without local dealer wanting the practice and example. The only certified 328 in the world? I think my car is valued $5 more now.
