sorry to be the first guy to point this out, but it makes a rookie like me feel smart... the wheels are on backwards!

went and sat in the car about 3 weeks ago, to see if I could even fit in a 348. First time in one, and it has the carbon fiber sport seats, which were to me weren't that great (course I am a bigger guy) Seller said that he had a very interested buyer, who was in the process of selling a Lingenfelter vette and another vehicle to try to make the purchase. It was slightly out of my price range, and although the seller said he has some wiggle room, he also said not much.

But they are not so comfortable for long drives: I carry a small pillow to add some lumbar support for more than 60 minute drives.

$69,900 better be more than a little wiggle room. Way over priced IMO.

Agreed, Doc. As for the seats, yep, they sure are nice, unless you have to drive very long in which case they tend to pound the hell out of your lower back. ;)

Even though I am a biased Speciale owner, I will say that I really don't think the car is overpriced.

The Speciale is one of 100 cars made, period.

It is a different car than a regular 1992 348.

It is the best of the 348s tb and ts, aside from the 15 1994 Speciale ts cars and the 32 1994 tb Challenge cars. I say "best" because there are improvements to the car that really matter, like the revised gear ratios and the wheel offset, not to mention various others.

The 348 Speciale does command a premium because it is, as I say, 1 of 100 (or 115 if you want to put it that way). He who shall not pay shall not have a Speciale.

Agreed on the above points but the premium is not $15K IMO. I am sure you can get a 1992 spec car for about $52K. I would personally pay $5k extra for a SS and maybe $8K for a 1994 Factory challenge car.

No doubt it's a beautiful car. I would think closer to $60K is reasonable premium.

I would love to see SS's and CH's (160 in all by my count) get recognized and appeciate like crazy. Look at 360 CS commands much more than regular 360 and Ferrari made 399? of these.
