    car wise?
My girlfriend and I are travelling to San Francisco and will be staying for about 10 days between the 25th of Jan. until the 4th of Feb.
It's her first time, I've been to California a few times before. Besides visiting the obvious landmarks and places, I would like to sneak in a few car-related program points, so any suggestions would be very welcome. Is there any historic racing going on at Laguna Seca Speedway maybe in this time period? We will be in SF only the first 2 days, after that we intend on travelling along the PCH in the direction of Santa Barbara.Any interesting restoration shops along that route?
Thanks in advance for your input.
    Kind regards, Mick

on the way to SB, stop by Solvang, a little Danish town. Stopping in Carmel and Monterey is nice too if you are not in a hurry.

In SF, check out Plouf for an outdoor meal when weather is warm. It's walking distance from Union Sq.

if you like go-carts, this place is fun. www.gokartracer.com. I think they're in Millbrae, and it is a barrel of laughs. Also, Beverly Hills Rent-a-Car has some nice toys to play with, and the best part is you can drive it like you stole it!! I rented a 360 and got it up to 160mph at a "private" course north of Lancaster about three years ago.

Blackhawk car museum in Danville is very nice.

Taking Hwy 9 from Saratoga to Santa Cruz is a great ride.

HWY 1 south of Montery is excellent.

If you are going to the wine country (and I am sure that you should be) stop by Ferrari of SF in Mill Valley always an interesting selection of cars to check out and its 2 minutes off the freeway.

If it takes you 2 minutes you are driving about a 1/4 mile per hour! It's literally next to the freeway exit for Seminary Drive.
