Any updates on the 355 twin turbo. I heard Classic Coach had a 355 twin turbo at the National meet at Watkins Glen. I spoke to a gentleman last week who said the car was pulling 600hp. He also said the system is getting very reliable.

Is this available for the 348? I read in the 348/355 or something like that thread, this one guy said that they supercharged or turbo'd his 348 and that it was working very nicely. I'll try to get more info.

I'm guessing you could add a 348 to your 355 for less then the cost of the turbo system!

Just based on some of the Heffner cars, it's outrageous. But then again, a 600 HP twin 355 just might be the greatest sports car!

someone just posted a link to that car it keeps evertyhing stock. with stock compression to keep cost down anyway anything pushing that much push is not going to be very reliable. unless the engine is design for itl ike noivtec kits are and the cost no way. engine development is key. which in turn comes in the cost of the kit.

Interesting read thanks for linking, but who is Ferrarifixer? Does his disapprovement warrant attention in the world that is ferrari? Has he himself twin turbo experience or is it just his opinion?
I tend to read the facts from the people who have actually had hands on experience with the subjects covered. And from what i have read about this conversion from people who have actually developed, built, seen and drove it, it sounds very impressive to me:)

I have read that thread from start to finish a while ago now mate. :):)

Ferrarifixer was VERY skeptical at 1st, but has since come to, so to speak. :p:p
He actually works on and services the car these days. :):)

A few Aussie Fchatters know the owner personally, and as far as I know, the car is very reliable. Still on original clutch and engine too. :):)

Now that's what I am talking about. That's the classic coach car. I heard it's fast. Anyone seen it on the track? The aussie install does look a little cleaner.

Yes, I had Classic Coach modify a 355CH with twin Garrett T-38 turbos and twin intercoolers. After one season it has been extremely reliable. I am only running 5 lbs. of boost, but we are at 510 bhp at the rear wheels, or a bit over 600 at the crank. During testing we ran 10 lbs. of boost, for over 620 bhp at the wheels, but i don't feel like rebuilding the engine every season.

Most items have remained stock, the compression is stock. However, a new engine management system with code written by Felix at CC, larger injectors, fuel pumps and uprated Bosch coils were necessary. So were some body mods to keep the temp. down. The intercoolers were cusom-built and are air to air. Now also has custom air scoops for each turbo, mounted at rear of each wheel arch. There are 2 exhaust pipes and 1 wastegate coming out of the rear, makes it look like a triple exhaust.

The power is linear and progressive with virtually no turbo lag. It really shines on long tracks like Pocono where you can keep the turbos spooled up. Lime Rock is a challenge until I learn how to brake with my left foot while keeping the revs up with my right.

There is one other 355CH car with these modifications owned by a friend and fellow track rat David D. He also is very pleased with the reliability and awesome power.

I'd have to say I'm very happy with the conversion and enjoy this car far more than the 360CH I used to run. It's more forgiving and a good bit faster, although not as quick in the esses, although a set of Penskes and some chassis tuning next week should cure that.

    Here's a pic

    Solly,

As one who has tested a rollcage I hope you got something more in there than just the 355C cage with all that hp.

Nice upgrade! Post up more pics of the custom work if you have them, I'd love to see the exhaust routing.

Solly, great cat. Is your car a 95 with a 2.7 motronics? Do you know if CC has done any 5.2 motronic cars?

    Regards.
    Darrell.
