Just noticed this on traderonline. At first I thought this was the one from Motorcar Gallery in Ft Lauderdale, but that one was an 83 series II if I remember correctly. I may call him to get the serial number. 1981 car would absolutely be a series I wouldn't it? I never really remembered in my head where the series I to series II cutoff was.

Its not a series 1 car. It is indeed #44121 a 1983 white/black 5-speed, the car Ed Waterman had down at Motorcargallery.

Nope, not a repaint. I happen to know the blue one was in Geneva for about 4 months and had new bulbs installed. The tech cleaned the inside of the tailights and re-installed them swapped.

I recall it being a good car. Not an exceptional car. Hey its a FIVE SPEED for $28k, just how bad can it be?
I didn't look it over that well, sorry. Ed used it as his daily driver for quite a while.

Ahh....so if this is the 83 series II I saw with Ed in Ft Lauderdale, then I know the car.

I took a look at it when I was down there mid-2006. The car is solid enough, sounds and seems to drive wonderfully. New exhaust. Black seats are somewhat tired, although some huge fans of leather call that "patina". Could use a re-dye and some softener. The carpet and headliner is tweedy tan stuff...that would have to go. I didn't like the look at all and was surprised to see it, however, since then I've seen this treatment on various color combo cars.

I was surprised to see the black tail, although it seems that early series II cars still got the black tail treatment.

I remember the TRXs were fair enough...not new, but not wasted either. IIRC, the tools and books were there. The car was in driver condition. The rear shocks were STIFF which means they'd need some attention...the self-levelers or something were way out of whack. Interior was in decent enough shape, again, looks like a 30 year old driver of a car.

But yeah, black interior 5-speed for $28k. The white isn't true white. It's decently creamy......almost an ivory white instead of say, Alpine White.

Interesting that it's in Tampa. Ed had it listed for $27500 if I remember correctly. Did he sell it to a new owner in Tampa who is immediately unloading the car? Or is it still in Ed's possession, just on the other side of Florida?

It's not often you see the back of a Ferrari 400i through the front window/dash of another Ferrari 400i. :) Neat pic.

Yep..totally figured it was yours since you got it from Ed just after I visited the white car. When I talked to Ed, the blue car hadn't yet arrived....

Well, DUH! Dave. That was pretty much a given. I did pick up the switched tail lights, but not sure what you meant about the rear fogs, they both look to be in their proper places in the rear bumper. Unless you mean that yours stick out while the normal positioning is inset into the bumper. Which means that yours are "outies" while most are "innies"!

Tough getting the lens to fit correctly over the radar/laser detector on the left and the jammer on the right installed by the PO.
    I'm removing them.

I would have thought that the rear fogs contained the oil slick guns to go with the front mounted machine guns!
