How many Ferraris are on the road worldwide? I know the older stuff but have no clue as to what recent production numbers are running. Any guestimates out there?

From article posted here earlier today: 90,000 out of 120,000 Ferraris made are still on the road.

In terms of newer cars... which model? I believe Ferrari now produce about 6,000 cars annually.

EDIT: You sure 'bout that? Seems everybody is "griping" (why is B$#@#in considered 'bad'?) due to the ever increasing numbers.

360s were well over 6k/year from what I understand. Can't imagine 430s being any different. Heck, on this forum alone they could sell more than 6,000 new 430s! ;)

yup...and Luca promised no more than 5,000 cars a year.

You know those 30k missing are all 308s, gt4s,and TRs.

I'm surprised the figure was that low! Porsche used to claim that 90% of all their cars were still on the road.

Of course, it depends on what your definition of "on the road" is!

360 total production was about 18,000, IIRC, spread over 1999-2004.

Thanks for the reply's that is a lot more than I thought. Have not had much interest in the newer cars. I like the cars from 1950-1963 the best. I had no idea that production was so high these days.

90K out of 120K ever produced? Those are pretty good numbers. Of course when you only average 2-3K miles a year, they really ae not driven much.

I agree. Ferraris tend to be bought to be preserved, maybe less so now than in the past when people had more respect for machinery.

If Porsche still claims 90% (I'm skeptical -- most 356s and early 911s rusted badly and quickly, and most 924s have been rightly used up and scrapped), that's an astounding stat.

Okay, I did some googling, and it appears that Porsche claims 60% are "still on the road."

I am still sceptical about the Porsche claim. They may not count 914's and 924's. They sold tons of those and how many do you see on the road. Where are all the 928's do not see those either.

60% sounds reasonable. 911s never seem to die.
