I finally have enough dough to get myself a ferrari, but I'm not quite sure what model to get. I was thinking about getting myself a 430. I really like the look of the 430. But I have heard of engine fires destroying the car, has this problem been fixed? I think I want either a 360 or a 430 but I'm not sure which one to get... this will be my first ferrari.

I'm sure 430 fires are grossly overstated. There's bound to be lemons in ANY brand of car; unfortunately one or two have caught fire and that's all anyone ever hears about. Ok, I don't know if it's limited to one or two, but I suspect it's a pretty low number.

yes but if you look at it from a production run percentage it would be like 10,000 fords flaming up.

I believe that it was posted somewhere that statistics show more Ferrari's burn in garage fires caused by something other than the car then the engine bay catching fire.

And b-mak, I was thinking the same thing. Need4speeeeed

    IMO

    1. 308's set the standard for engine fires.
    2. Anyone who has the $ to outright buy a 430 should probably know which he likes better and why.
    3. Uneducated first time Ferrari buyers are also a leading cause of engine fires.
    4. Buy 3-4 years old and save on the depreciation
    5. Spend the next weeks vacation brushing up on past posts

    Welcome ;)
