Something is badly wrong here. Ferrari never needed to copy the NSX.. It always had the best styling. What happened?
This is AMAZING picture!!! I love it, if this would be successor of 430, i should start to save money. Its exactly my cup of tea......Awesome look!!!!
From Luca's direct mouth at the F Christmas party: "Ferrari will introduce a new model at the end of 2008". He was not specific as to the time or the model in contrast to the other new 2008 FIAT Group models.
I am sure that Luca told this about "F149" launch, expected during Paris Auto Show in Autumn 2008. 599 Spider is in Ferrari plans for 2008/2009 too. F430 replacement or so called "F142" will be launched in 2009, with Spider coming in 2010. Best.
Just thinking that it is close to time to replace the 430, my question is what will it be? I have to projects that Ferrari could use. They are just my thoughts. Both programs would require a new body design to improve the aero package. Keeping the car planted to the ground is the most important part of the programs. We know that it has to look good and handle great or it is not a Ferrari. Project 1 would be a 455, in lack of another name. It would produce 450 bhp with 500 ft lb of torque. The motor would be a V8 with 5 valves per cylinder. Project 2 would be a 145 TDI, again for lack of another name. It would produce between 450 and 475 bhp with 650 ft lb of torque. It would be a V8 turbo diesel. This would put the creative and tech minds of Ferrari to work. As I stated above, these are just a couple of thoughts that I had, what about you? Bruce
Ferrari has officially answered the question of whether a diesel engine would fit in their future to meet the tough new euro regulations. F said no.
not diesel............but ethanol http://www.autoblog.com/2008/01/13/detroit-2008-ferraris-ethanol-powered-430-spider-bio-fuel/
Wrong forum IMO F will pay some lip service on these "green" ideas but things really won't change that much. In the grand scheme of things the rich are exempt from the carbon tax, tax scheme.
I visited my dealer yesterday to look at the Scuderia and to talk about a CS I´m close of getting. He told me Sweden got 35 Scuderias all sold. Also he told me the 430´s replacement will come during 2010. He had no name or numbers yet though but a few orders already.
I hope it's not true what this old website says about hardtop only? http://www.autoblog.com/2007/09/25/spy-shots-ferrari-dino-and-f430-successor/
The F149 will have a retractable hard top, however, the new F430 is a different car and will always come out with a spider version, a year after the coupe's debut.
For the V8 range spiders have been around for decades...why change the tactics? Spiders are market success for more money, why would Ferrari quit it? according to car magazine the successor will look like the Enzo. Well I do not think so. The Enzo shape is beautifull and agressive but old. This would not be shockingly new... Turbo? Maybe... Porsche 997 turbo Ferrari F470 turbo The engine will be produced in Stuttgart?
