What Happens When you drive a 360 Every day ?

you instantly increase the likelihood for more smiles/day, better attitude and wonderful life experiences!

 

Just buy it and drive it .......if the depreciation figure worries you because you intend to drive it like your Porsche..then stick to Porsche.

 

You have one more reason to wake up in the morning ...

 

I drive mine 3-5 times a week, including several days to work, close to 7,500 miles a year. Drives terrific, not a single problem, lots of smiles and a good mood every time. What’s not to like?

 

In reality ferraris have a steep depreciation curve that's proportional to mileage. We all know it. Its just a matter of how great your aversion to service cost and vehicular depreciation is. My guess is that unless one is truly wealthy, a major service bill will make anyone cringe.

P.S I've had a couple of porsches and the service cost is a bit more on ferraris. Someone has told me it costs about a dollar mile. I.e at 5k miles ones pays $5k and at 10k miles another $10k. I think its a bit exaggerated. I just had a 3 years service done with belt and fluids taken care of. The mileage was roughly 4K and I paid little bit under $3k at an independent shop. FoBH did however quote me $5k.

 

If I were debating about what to do with all your "ifs", I would forget about it. An exotic car may not cost very much ,i.e. under $5,000 a year to maintain, and may not depreciate much, i.e if well cared for. However, cars with, say 10,000 miles more or less do sell for less given how many are for sale by people who "saved" their car for someone else. No disrespect intended, but , you seem more worried about money than pleasure, which does not bode well for an upgrade. Best

 

Good points by RBK. Assuming you have the roads and weather to drive a Ferrari mid engine v8 every day- then what happens is your problems dont seem quite as bad, the sky is more vivid, flowers more beautiful, etc. If you like driving then this will be one of the great things to have in life. Next question: stick or F1! (go stick!!! )

I currently have two p-cars one is like Ferrari status (just for weekends), one daily driver. A p-car for great for an everyday driver, drive anywhere, park anywhere, valet anywhere, low maintenance cost, good reliability.

So I am selling one of the p-car and replace it with a Ferrari, only plan to drive it on the weekends and put about 1000 miles a year.

The current production number and maintenance cost still doesn't make a Ferrari a resonable daily driver. Unless like someone said you don't care about the resale and the up keep cost then enjoy!

 

It feels really really good and you loose touch with the world cause you dont play the radio.

 

You know, you're right. I rarely listen to the stereo (or radio in this car's case). I always listened to the stereo in my Porsche, but in the Ferrari, it's the car. Interesting observation.

 

Not me (and I'm just a "poor" sodding engineer). I did research before I bought my 550. I know what the servicing costs are; next year I'll have to fork out 4 - 5 grand Euro. Why whine about it? It's hardly a surprise. Same with depreciation. You can stick your head in the sand but we all know the score. Just face up to it and enjoy the car!

Had a 997TT and a 997GT3 this year , just trade my 08CL63 for a 2004CS and I can not wipe the smile off my face....I used it as a DD at least for now, only had it a week!

Mine has cost me about $1/mile for the last 2 years. That does include a new clutch and belt service though.

 

You get more tickets, more women, more wrinkles (as you smile too much, and too often) and more friends. I can personally vouch for all of these. Dang I wish I had this car when I was younger. These are good times.

 

Damn, sorry... not sure if these are the friends or woman I want to meet because of a car....

 

If I weren't married with a beautiful wife and wonderful kids, I'd take all the abuse my body could handle.

I can vouch for having one at a young age. It is pretty amazing with girls


And about driving it everyday. The 360 is a fantastic car, I went with the F1 and it is great for me for everyday driving because of the Auto option on it. It does eat up clutches, but overall the cars are one of the less expensive ferrari's to maintain and own. I hope to be the first one to break a million miles with mine. And I hope I get an award for doing it.

Dr. KB: Until a year ago, I also drove a 911, in fact a new one every year since 1966!! After becoming increasingly frustrated by the lack of soul in the newer 911's, I made the monumental switch to a 360 Spider last winter. The Spider is my daily driver and I expect to drive it 7,500 miles per year. Yes, it costs more to service and yes it is not quite as comfortable on a long haul as a 911. That being said, the Spider has been perfectly reliable and comfortable enough to drive all day. And the looks.....

I could never go back to the 911. The Spider is the same sports car that my 73 911 RS was. The Spider is very fast, incredibly agile, and more than beautiful. The exhaust note especially with the Tubi is incredible, both on and off the gas. My plan is to keep the mileage under 15,000 and when the Spider reaches that level of useage, I will sell it and buy another Spider, most likely a 430. If you can afford the car, buy it and drive it!! Life is too short not to be driving a Ferrari. I liked my Ferrari so much that I bought my wife a Ferrari as well.
