I'm still looking for pictures and any other information on Dino wire wheels. My client really wants this look on his 1974 246 GTS.

Borranni makes wheels with adapter plate for many other cars Mercedes etc. The 6 1/2 x 14 wheels used on dinos and 308's I believe are RW4326's They also make wheels set ups in 15's for 400 series cars.

The wheel hubs are entirely different then hubs used on standard knock off wheels. The adapter style hubs need extra space to accommodate the bolts that hold adapters in place on to brkake rotors.

Ponder Dino closeup -- hope this helps. He was rather insistent that the set of wheels and knockoffs were incredibly rare. I can't speak to that, but did note that there was much about the car that didn't appear to be original. I wouldn't throw it out of my garage, though...

Any photos of these hubs or the adapters? I haven't found anything about them at the Borrani website.

I would rapidly throw out of my garage the SF shields, the knockoffs, the wheels, the tires, the carpets, the steering wheel, the gearshift knob, the top air vents, the radio, the radio remote control, the door panels, and the seats.

The wheels and knockoffs aren't the only things that are incredibly rare on this dino... I bet the steering wheel and the sound installation are priceless.

Hear Hear! I must say that those wheels look TOTALLY out of place on a Dino very tasteless. But then again as i always say each to their own!

I've seen centre locking Simmons wheels on a early 246,these wheels are in the BBS style of the late '70s/80s

Alex, aren't the wires original or at least an original Ferrari option? I've seen those wire wheels on a number of cars from that era... Elvis' GT4 has them for instance..

Everybody has their own opinion on what looks good but I have to say the wire wheels look totally out of place on a Dino or a 308.

    You're from California, right?

I guess that explains it. ;)

Regarding the Ponder Dino, when it was last at auction, it was asserted, as follows:

When you check the Dino Registry, and the link to the first owner, the wheels are listed as standard Cromodoras. (The Ponder Dino had a lot of other extremely dubious claims made about it). So, all of the evidence pretty much points to the fact wire wheels were NOT a factory option. Maybe some were delivered to new owners with wire wheels, but certainly not the Ponder Dino.

Elvis' car is not the most beautiful celebrity Ferrari that's for sure.
