Anyone here already have an R8 or getting one?

    Anyone here getting the Nissan?

Both look like they're going to be awesome cars!

We almost got the R8, but my wife did not like the looks. I wasn't a big fan either.

She is signed up for the new ZR-1 and I will seriously look at the GT2.

Second in line to get a ZR1. Checked my local Nissan dealer who expects to get 2-3 GTRs and was told very little interest in the car yet. May change my choice if I can see the GTR in person.

I am second to get the gtr at my dealer. I've been a skyline fan for a long time and this car is going to be incredible! I can't wait!

In the next couple of years I will be looking into the GTR once it hits the used car lot and drops in resale then definately I will be in the market for one. If not I will definately get a used R33 or R34.

R8 I am not to interested in that.

I don't know which I would choose between the two...

I wonder which one will be faster around a track...(not including Nissan's test results on preproduction prototypes)

    The R8 is exotic looking.

The GTR is supposed to be a techno wonder speed machine.. but I'd wait to hear what the real independant tests show...

I finally saw one out on the road Sunday, and definitely is - but its a huge car. Course, when comparing it to the GTR with a front engine, rear gearbox, and 4wd...

R8 is also 4wd, and has a rear gearbox, except it is mid-engined, whereas the GTR isn't.

I think that the GTR is more powerful also?

I'll reserve my opinion on the GTR's looks until I see it in some form other than pictures, but the R8 is definitely a hot looking car. I find the GTR's gearbox position odd due to it necessitates the need for another long drive shaft forwards, after bringing it all the way to the rear. Whereas say, a Lamborghini VT, goes from motor, to mid mounted gearbox, and then outputs front and rear. I'm not saying the GTR is bad, or the R8, just I found the R8 much larger than I expected it to be.(Of course, I knew it did have several inches on a Gallardo, but still, its something else to see it.)

The R8 is wide but not very long..

When you guys say the r8 is huge ... do you mean width?

yes, more powerful, and also uglier!:)

I'd have to get the R8, because once the GTR comes out you'll see all the ricer boys trade in their Evo's and STi's for GTR's..........so, not thanx..... I rather have the more "exclusive" R8 :)
