According to my experiences, a mint 288 should cost around 2.000.000,oo/100 danish 'kroner'/crowns,..

The most recent quote I have, is from Ferri Auto, in Modena, Emilia Romagna, Italy, where they said that a 288 was available with dealership guarentee for a 350.000 euro's consideration, ..

In 2002, the now previous owner of the MonteCarlo specialty cars sales shop in the 'other harbour of Monaco', quoted 1.4 or 1.7 million french franc's for a Modena-based 288 GTO, ..

If you see a quote for a Danish registration 288 GTO, it will be higher (I don't know if any exists..), since here in Denmark, the Social Democrat nanny state has decided, that 120%/180% registration taxes will have to be paid to the government, and additionally, 20/25% sales tax (called 'moms', like I.VA/VAT) calculated on top of the (x 1.20/x 1.80 + 1.00) i.e. around 3 times total the same car's price in for instance Germany,,...

    Steve,

Yes they are, but if you are one of those blessed individuals to own a California BAR approved 288 GTO, some consolation should be afforded in due course...

    Joe,

Just sunk cost. I've owned the car so long my annual registration fee is $186.

Those taxes are ridiculous, I know. I was surprised when I saw so many Danish registered Ferrari's at a Gentlemen Racing Club (GRC) meet at Knutstorp Ring (Sweden) recently after discussing the tax situation in Denmark with a friend. At that time, Sweden's car taxes suddenly seemed tolerable :)

Great pair indeed. Too bad I rolled my Miura SV back in 80s. A long sad story that one.

"52741" is another early GTO, the 32nd built and was also English-registered, this time as "B 591 OPG"... the English love GTOs and Ive heard then referred to by several as the thinking man's Ferrari Supercar.
