I'm debating weather to get the SONY S300 Blu-ray DVD player or the PS3
Does anyone know as far as watching Blu-ray DVD makes any different between the two DVD player,
or will they give both the same quality when watching Blu-ray movies?
    Thanks.

The Ps3 is the better value. There's a new Blu-ray profile out called 1.0 and the PS3 just got that update, whereas the other B_R player hasn't. Plus you can play games on the PS3, surf the internet, watch dvds, and now you can even watch DIVX and XVID movies on it, which is a huge plus point. The PS3 does everything any other blu-ray player can do, so you don't have to worry.

Plus I believe the PS3 has the latest 1.3a HDMI outputs.

    Is the PS3 reliable?

I know the PS2 was meant to play DVD's as well, but I know several peeps who had massive problems playing their DVD's on their PS2.

So have they fixed all those problems in the PS3?

Oh yeah, it has sufficient cooling. 0% breakage rate. The 360 just has errors all over the place.
The Ps3 was made to be a Multimedia powerhouse with Blu-Ray and it can handle it. There was this one guy, who tested it in a freezer and sauna, and it still worked fine for a couple hours, they had it in there...

    LOL

NOTHING has a 0% breakage rate, and unless you work for a very specific group within Sony you would have no knowledge of the PS3's "breakage rate" nor whether the XBOX 360 has "errors all over the place" (which it doesn't).

To the OP: The PS3 is a very good Blu-Ray player, probably better than just about all of the commercial ones available, for all the reasons mentioned above. If the cost is not a factor, I'd definitely get a PS3 even if it's just going to be for Blu-Ray movies, over any of the commercial disc-player only devices.
