One of my earliest instructions was: "never turn your back to a race-car". The folks in post 3255 obviously didn't receive those words of warning. It's marvelous looking at these old pix, seeing how little protection there was for spectators. Or drivers, for that matter. Them were the days!

That photo was not from 1000 kilometres de Paris as 0854 ran as a berlinetta with a silver patch on the drivers side.It was also green in that race!
