correct, not to mention that the broker will do or say anything to justify an inflated value (and hence a bigger commission for the flog)...

My F40 will never be certified, even though I have all the original pieces within 50 feet of the car, and that, according to to The Sackman, is sufficient to pass the "hand the check over over and we'll certify you" test.

Coachi, I know your car quite well and have some seat time in it. I am the GM at Shelton and remember when it was here. It is a wonderful car and drives the way it does because of some very nice mods. I hope you continue to enjoy it.

Correct? Lets see if you will service your particular F40 outside of the Ferrari dealership network with a so-called "F40 expert"...

Id lay good money your car will get Classiche Certified too.

We have noticed that after all the naysaying and all the baying you plan to discuss it with Ferrari. Why bother? Stick to your prejuidiced modus operandii especially since you have gone on the record repeatedly declaring that the Classiche Certification is a waste of money. You know how these F-Chat quotes are all archived and can re-surface at inopportune moments only to cry "Hypocrite!" when they do.... we wouldnt want that. Stick to game plan. Certification is for us who know not what we do :)

    Happy New Year!

I seem to recall you were caught in that trap, Joey old chap, pulling out your "Classiche Certified" Exhaust and replacing with a decidedly unapproved Tubi Inconel something or other. Save your rationalization in your reply. You had your car certified and immediately moved to change it. Whichever way you try to wriggle out of this one it won't work. Pleading that it is temporary is akin to killing someone and saying you were temporarily insane. It doesn't change the crime, so stop being so holier than thou - you can't get away with it any more, you Inconel breathing F40 owner :)

Oh, BTW in the Phoenix the authorized dealer has nothing on a couple of independent techs here, one of which (Andy Falbo) worked for Ferrari during the F40 production period as a development engineer on the F40, so it's unlikely my car would see the inside of the dealership if it needed real work done on it.

Hey Alex, haven't you heard ? You're just a "hobbyist"...Joe's the pro ya know....

That super secret inconel exhaust that was supposedly developed just for him (which was strangely also on display at Moroso during the Cavallino Classic on the Tubi display months before...hmmmm).

Seems a lot of hobbyists have been correcting Joe the pro lately.

Disagree. An F40 cannot be brought up to modern supercar specs. However the considerable potential of the car can be unlocked with simple mods that take advantage of technology that was not available when the car was developed. Brembo big brakes are the clear example. There is no way that the F40 with a primitive frame, agricultural transmission and no electronics can ever match an Enzo or a CGT or even a 430S. The F40 does not need to - it offers its' own form of sensory overload

This may sound insane to some of you, but I am of the opinion that a car is just that...a car. The owner is free to do with it as they please. Just enjoy the time you spend with it while you can. Those that find joy in a 100% OEM car will find a way to bring it back to stock if that is what they way. In short...life is too short to worry about what exhaust your F40 has..you have an F40 for christ's sake..
