Funny, Weird, Clever things your pets do

Pets do some crazy, clever and smart things, so here is your place to gloat over your dog or cat! I'll start:

Rigby ('Zippy' to some here):

* She hate's the vacumm cleaner. All I have to say is 'VACUMM' and she immediatly bolts upstairs and hides under the bed.
* She loves a bath. If I say 'Bath', she'll run upstairs and jump in the tub and stay there until I come in and start the water.
* Say the word 'LEASH' and she goes crazy for a walk. She'll run at full bore in circles around the living roon, through the kitchen and down the hall until we walk outside.

 

When I had the 360, my poodle did the 15K service for me.

 

Mr. Gable in my avitar, when a tool hits the floor its in his mouth, wating for you to retrieve it. sadly my garage pal has left us.

 

Daphne the semi-wonder cat will only drink water that is dribbling from a faucet or the bidet. She refuses to drink water from her bowl. She also plays fetch with me, and I am the only one to whom she will return the ball, mouse or other projectile. Also, she has this habit of curling up inside my sink in the morning after I am done shaving and she has a nice warm bowl to retire to. I just happened to take a picture of her this morning. She's a real goofball but I love her.

Hey, Daphne looks like a cat we had; "Stretch Mark" - only answered to "Stretch"...

Say, speaking of marks, the mighty, mighty and beloved wonderdog, "Freckles" could leave skidmarks like nobody's [but, unfortunately, everyone's] business.

 

LOL. One of my other cats, Jellybean, used to live with me and sometimes she would scootch her ass on the carpet as if she had rectal itch or something. But she never left any skidmarks.

 

She had an inflamed gland condition that needed medical attention and medication.

 

My min pin, Sassy gives us what we call the 'b*tt treatment'. If she feels ignored, or upset with us, or doesn't get her way, she sits or lies down with her b*tt toward us, and occassionally glare back at us!

She also goes crazy with the word 'walk', and runs/jumps around until we put the leash on. Then for the first 5 or so feet she pulls the leash with her teeth.

The other min pin Jack, if he see's you eating he brings over a pigs ear or other treat to 'trade' with you.

 

Rigby does the 'Leash Attack' for the first 4-5 minutes of her walk also! It's crazy!........She also got crazy last night at midnight. Took her for a walk and all the neighborhood fireworks spooked her bad. She broke from the leash. After driving around for 20 minutes, I found her on the street. It was 'Truck Truck' and she jumped in and at the door it was 'BATH' and up she went to the tub!

She knows here treats too! Say 'Puppy Treat' and she'll go nuts around the jar of goodies in the TV room. Say 'Big Big Department' and she'll run to the kitchen and sit at the fridge for a beef rib bone!

 

years ago we had a dog who would answer the phone. the basement phone was on the wall along side of the staircase. when it rang he would get on the steps and knock the handset off the wall then go down the basement and listen to you talking. it freaked my wife out until we figured out what was going on. she thought someone was in the house. he also would jump up and pull the string on the ceiling mounted light so he wouldn't have to be in the dark cellar.

 

One of my cats, Buster, was picked up off the street six years ago...from the first night he has slept with me, and from the first day, has met me at the door whenever I come home from work, etc.... He hears the car pull up, and even if he's sleeping, by the time I'm at the front door, he's waiting for me... so far, everyday for over six years...

He's a great guy....!

My older Golden, Senna, loves having her chest and stomach scratched. She'll lay down in front of you, look you in the eye and point repeatedly towards her stomach!

 

my kitty Muffin likes to wash her paws and give herself manicures and she is fascinated by my girlfriends make up

my male cat Zingy likes to smell my breath when I come home to see if I ate anything tasty and if he smells anything he likes he flicks his tongue out a few times and seems to enthusiastically approve

and Shamu is sort of grumpy so we bought her a little castle where she hides out when she gets too stressed

I love Min Pins, but our three cats don't...they're natural enemies, it seems. I bought a beautiful female Min Pin from a top breeder in Sept '05, and had to take her back 24 hours later because she was terrorizing the cats, who were here first.

Speaking of the butt treatment, I think it's a standard way animals signal they want attention and recognition. My cat Theo does the same thing...early in the morning when I'm still in bed, he backs up and sticks it right in my face if I don't get up in time or pay immediate attention to him upon awakening. If I manage to get up before he does and go in my office and close the door, he screams at the top of his lungs until I open the door, let him in and pet him for a couple of minutes, and then allow him to browse around a few minutes more. He will then wander off and go back to sleep.

 

I have a 90lb male yellow lab, Crash. Like all Labs, Crash loves to fetch. To wear him out faster, we throw the ball down the the full flight of stairs in our house and make him climb back up. He seems to realize that he's a big threat, because before he goes down the stairs at full speed chasing the ball, he barks one time as if to let anybody coming up know that he's on the way. Good thing he does it, he'd KO anyone trying to climb the stairs.

We also have a lake house that has no fence in the back yard. In order to encourage him to come back inside after he goes out to do his business, we always give him a doggy treat. He outsmarted us last summer. He'd go to the back door as if he needed to go out, then he'd go circle the yard and come back in. He'd immediately go to the room where we keep his treats and look at us for his reward. It worked a few times until we realized he was doing it every 30 minutes, just for the treat.

 

I have a little Yorkie. This thing is high maintenance!

In the morning she'll wake up with me and my girlfriend at 7. Once my girlfriend leaves she goes back to sleep until 10:30 to 11:00 every single time. Then comes out of nowhere and puts her front paws on my chair to get lifted up for some morning kisses.

Another funny as hell thing is that whenever she eats and then drinks, she lets out the LOUDEST burp a minute or two later.

 

My aunt has a cat that has learned to open her sliding glass door by jumping up, grabbing the latch, and then pawing the door open. But the cat doesn't do it to escape. Instead she does it to let the dog out when he needs to go out. The first time I saw the cat let the dog out I couldn't believe my eyes.

 

My Sheltie ,Prancer, will only sleep on a bed and everytime I see him sleep he has all four paws in the air and rolled over on his back. He will also go out and just sit in the cold for an hour or more, when we got him as a puppy it was January and he would go out and just sit in the snow, we thought he was going to freeze to death, but he was very happy.

 

my dog is an attention whore, whenever anyone enters the house after theyve been gone for more then one hour, she freaks out moans whines and rolls over, shes genuinely excited to see us every single day.
some other stuff:

*at 4 everyday she barks until she can go to the front door and pickup the mail, her mail is a biscut the mailman leaves her, if shes lucky there are 2

*at 5pm she barks and wants her dinner

*when we hit the gong we have from indonesia, she howls like a wolf at the full moon, not sure if its because its hurting her ears, but if i just begin to howl like that without the gong, she will do it too.

*when she is curled up in a little ball when you pet her she begins to kind of grunt, and when you stop she stops, her attempt at purring.

yeah thats about it as of now i think, she hates the vaccum too and on mondays hides in the office above the garage to get away from the cleaners

 

My cat used to pee in the toilet. RIP.

My African Grey flies from the living room to the bedroom and attacks my black tennis shoes. Like a mighty raptor, wings out, biting and pulling, sometimes flipping the shoe over on top of her.

She plays tether ball with a bell on a long chain, for hours, getting p1ssed and bashing it around. She thinks she's pretty tough.

Best of all she talks to me, sometimes it's the most intelligent conversation I've had all day....................... a most amazing creature.

I used to have a Mastador (Bullmastiff-Labrador mix) who was rather large. The other two dogs (horny Lab and Bull mastiff ) couldn't reach the peach tree we had in the yard so they'd go get him, all walk over to the tree and wait for him while he grabbed two peaches, drop them, pick his own then all eat together like the happy family they were.

 

I caught my male cat doing that a few times, I'll have to get a photo 1 day

 

My cat { Skank } walks with me on long walks, Follows like a dog [ no leash ] stays with me entire time.
