Alex Roy at Chowder

Alex Roy made an appearance with his car at the Chowder lunch today. The place was packed as usual for the December holiday lunch and he wasn't even the main attraction. There was a fascinating presentation about the 1908 Great Race from New York to Paris via cross country then across China and through the eastern part of Europe that was won by the famous Thomas Flyer. The presentation was by the great grandson of the driver of the Thomas Flyer and he is the spitting image of the guy.

Anyway, Alex was there (along with some other notables, including Oscar Kovaleski and Chris Economaki) and was signing copies of his book "The Driver". I got my copy signed by him but also by the producer of a documentary about his cross country dash. She is a VERY attractive blue eyed woman named Cory Welles. She was the "back seat cover" on the trip. The production will be completed sometime in 2008.

Not a bad way to spend an extended lunch period!

oh man, at alex's book reading for NYMC, Corey came along, and after a few glasses of red I realized I was blatantly hitting on her. I couldn't help it, she is exceptionally hot.
