Are you saying that the entire plastic stalk just spins freely? or just the rubber end cap?

fortunately it happened when the lights were already on haha. so i dont have a problem driving it at night since the lights come on and off when the car is started and stopped.

its probabaly worn out like you said. im going to dig into it tomorrow and see what i can do.. it will give me a chance to disconnect the seatbelt bulbs and recover my steering column anyway :)

PAP.. happy new year down under.. isnt it new years there already?!?! :)

If anyone knows, first step is remove the Steering Wheel by removing the horn button and getting to the nut, remove nut then wheel, then column panels? This would ge me into the turn signal stalk also the light stalk, as they are one unit? Any thoughts or advice on removal and replacing, anyone on board have experience and can let me know what to whatch out for?

This happened on my 328. There are just a couple of parts to buy to regain the 'click'. No major surgery. Call Daniel at Ricambi later this week.

Cool cool. It sounds like it is worn out mate. Mine is exactly the same. :(:(

I am lucky though, I can just pull mine out a little and the lights pop up and down. :D:D

I need to get a new one when I get around to it. :):)

New Years day down here already mate. Hope you are enjoying your night in the US. :D:D

Sadly..........I think you will have to order the complete combination switch.
I dont think they sell the bush seperately by memory.

The bush where the light stalk goes in would be worn, like mine. If you are good enough, you could probably just try to glue it back in there or something. I am sure there is someway to repair it. I just havent had the time to pull mine apart to fix it. :):)

I could be wrong, maybe it cannot be repaired. But for the price of a new one, I think I will give it a go 1st. I may even try and source a good second hand one. :):)

On the 308s the switch is at the end of the stalk....but I dont see any wiring so that press fit taper must be operating a switch INSIDE the column???

I'm from Engineering...I have all kinds of glue, and PAPERCLIPS also! :D :D

He's been wanting to see this 348Spyder Rodeo Drive Intro print for ages, but he never stops by! LOL!

I found an early 348 sales brochure to match!

I'm thinkng of knocking off the matching event T shirt, for all my 348 Bruddas!

I'll let 200 kids tromp thru my leather interior, with both doors open, but I have to WATCH them when they grab for the steering and switch controls.

I remember reading in a post that the stalk assembly for the Mondial-T was exactly the same part as the 348, but was priced significantly less. Alas, I can't find that post now -- maybe someone who's a better searcher than me can locate it.
