Hi all and especially Aussie members,

it looks like there could be a discripancy with a (once) Victoria registered pair of Dinos. I have received by somebody who registered his car a picture of 246 GT 07598, pale blue in colour. I did some further research and have found out, as to the Register, that a Martin Tuck, from Victoria (AUS) owned 07598 in 1978. Indicated as a European yellow 246 GT it was registered on plates LAG 680.

Obviously same Martin Tuck owned 02012, also a Euro 246 GT and also in Yellow registred then on plates LAG 686.

There is no sign, that LAG 680 has been mistaken with LAG 686, but the plates, the owner and the colour look too suspicious to refrain from further investigation.

Can somebody help me to sort it out, please?

The FCA register shows Martin Tuck owning # 07590- Yellow, registered LAG 680. The last numeral in the SN is zero and not eight.

He is also listed as having owned # 02120 engine 135C0000007593, Also yellow, no rego number listed.

    thank you,

I think Ivo sorted it out on Telaio:

02120 looks correct and was also mistaken with 02012, that showed Tuck as owning this as well. I corrected those records.

I doubt Tuck owning 07590 as this car was/is owned in Spain and a Euro car.

I believe the trouble came from the eng. # 07593. Probably the spotter than (seems a long time ago, and sadly, Denny is not longer available to clarify) tried to sort this number into the even-number-chain of Dinos. Makes it clear, combined with the infos I have received, that 07598 was sold new in Italy and has been there ever since.

Another Australian Dino was 03436, now in Italy, #2/2 cars in rare Verde Bahram 2.443.546 (only the other Dino and 5 Daytonas seem to have been produced in Verde Bahram 2.443.546). The current owner seeks the histroy of the car and only little is known:

registered in Australia on Plate "RT309". Last Australian owner Mr ROBERTO ALBERTO TONIZZO 13/50 OCEAN ST, WOOLLAHRA 2025, NSW, shown at the Australian Motor Show of 1973, and said to be raced in Sydney, sold to Italy in 2005, obviously sold to Mr W.H.Lowe.

Any "down under info" on this?

    Matthias

    # 03436 doesn't appear in the FCA registery at all. That doesn't mean that it was never here, just that it wasn't owned by a Ferrari Club member and the car was never spotted. You would probably realise that W.H. Lowe was the Australian importer at the time, it is unlikely that he personally owned the 246. Roberto Tonizzo does not appear in the register at all, again meaning he was/is not a club member.
