Well, as Jalopnik says, "It's good to be skeptical". I'm still skeptical. I guess we will see in a couple of weeks.

well at least this will make the R8 superlative in some way, instead of just being a very competant mee too exotic.

    738 lb-ft of twisties!!!

    Is it standard 4WD?

    That would be a rocket...

According to what I've been told, the v10 is still a go, but the twin turbo is what was canned.

if the v12 soot maker is loved at Detroit, it may go production

Cool idea, but I still cant get past the looks of the R8. Its not as good looking as a 911 Turbo IMO. V12 TDI should be interesting.

I agree with you. But with 738 lb-ft of torque, the thing just got much better looking...

crap! you beat me to it. I was just gonna post this news up.

    but...

This car is going to AWESOME! 738 lb/ft of torque, with Quattro will make it a very enjoyable car to drive. Maybe it will too heavy?

The problem I see is this, is the current R8 already limits torque out of the 4.2 quattro in 1st gear as is... in theory, it should be faster then a 997 C2 S off the line, but it isn't..

That's only a problem if you want to drag race at a light... but if you want to accelorate out of a corner, say 20-120mph, it'll be a missile!

    Yep.
    Was the Lemans car a V-10 or 12 ?
They should ride that engines coat-tails.
