She's a beauty for sure and that motor is CLEAN!
The only way to know of she is worth $35K is through a PPI. If she checks out (compression/leakdown, etc...) then the asking price is very fair IMHO. I'd be curious how many miles are on the belts since last service of if it has sat since then...and what did the 'extensive major service' entail??

Also, the car is in Indy, which is not that far from me. (2hrs) If someone were VERY serious I'd be happy to find the time to go check it out.

    Nice looking well preserved example.
If its been sitting that long you'd need to consider 2g's or so for a major and complete hose replacements.
    $35k? Yep it'll bring that.
If someone here buys it I'll give you $500 for that factory license plate frame.

If the licence plate frame is worth $500, then the car should easily bring $1Million.

    WOW!

Beautiful car!!! If it all checks out $35K is a bargin, I'd say its worth more like $40K+ with that kinda miles on her. What a find indeed!

    Cheers!

this should sell for more than 35, what a pretty kept up car. Would be nice to see it person. Anyone see this car up close.

if it is as the description says, as a one owner this would be a great car.....why do dealers put armour all along the tires for that shine....what a turnoff.

i have a similiar frame on my 308. just last month the service manager at the ferrari dealer here commented that they had never seen a frame like that and asked me where i got it. i had no idea, it came with the car. cool to know that it's a factory item.

Sure is, you lucky dog. That is one of the "holy grails" of the GT4. Hang on to it.

My license frame is anodized black. My front grill an wiper arms were painted black too. The extent of variation from the factory on these details never ceases to amaze me.

Nice that this car has the 80 mph speedo, certainly leads one to believe the mileage is accurate but...

while the back seats look great both the passenger and driver seat show cracking and wear

the steering wheel has been replaced so we have no idea how much wear the original was subject to

I wonder what the pedals look like?

The Dino script looks funny to me, it looks too plain.

Are those wheels original? Mine are Cromodora but with Ferrari, Cromodora, and wheel size in raised letters and numbers.

The spare tire shows uneven tire wear.

Here's one - in a picture of the interior the passenger side door is open, but the driver's side door light is not on. That could require many hours of trouble shooting to track down. And if the door panel has to come off, you might as well re-grease the window motor, and, if you're already greasy you might as well pull the motor for inspection, really it is just a slippery slope from there to a full body glass-out respray....

Well then that would totally justify a color change in my mind as I am not crazy about the red/boxer paint....

There was a thread on it, or a post somewhere....

Those lights are actually a 3 way switch in themselves too, IIRC. And if they are not in the correct possision they will not come on. Though I may be mistaken, I'll have to go out and play with mine when I get home and confirm. Unless someones allready at home and not at work that can do so sooner.

    Cheers!

That '79 car is not worth $35K in California. Smog requirements are too tough, and it will be slower than a Series 1. Now if it were a '75.......

go find one then, and report back ;)...doubt it would look as pretty as this for the money. Even if you had one half the money you couldnt make that car present like this. I will agree with others on this thread, one of the prettiest gt/4s ive seen. The world is bigger than California ;) Congrats on whoever buys it....it looks great, hope it runs as good as it looks.

are the series I faster than series II's even if you take off the smog?

as far as 35k valuation, if the car is as nice as it appears and doesn't have any unseen issues (mechanical or cosmetics) then its worth 35k in or out of california. Some of the interior pictures look like their maybe some leather wear or cracking on the bolsters (driver) but besides that it sure looks good.

See, you are already troubleshooting the electrical system on the car for sale and you don't even own it (yet?). It is dangerous how fast these things happen. Give me a call when you are purchasing paint for this car and I'll help talk you down.

    :)
