Funny you say that---Wouldn't surprise me at all if it was at FoW --- I think they have every other dealer in the country beat for the highest asking prices.. It's actually at a Porsche dealer.. I guess they are trying to make up for the depreciation hit alot of Porsches take...

they're definitely on crack! And there's a lundry-list of reasons that car wont sell, and why that listing sucks.
#1 if the car is in a part of the country where cars rust and fall apart, dont take pics WHILE the car is out in the rain, IN WINTER TIME!
#2 The listing brags more about the dealership than the car itself!
#3 Post more than 6 pics of a $60K car that you're asking 90 grand for!!

    I'll let you guys fill-in #4-#50

I must admit tho... thats almost the only car i'd trade my 348 for. If it only had all black interior... ::sigh::

Here's to the dreamers. How far out of touch can one be, trying to sell a 1st year 355 GTS in the winter?! Also, it seems that publishing information on the car only gets in the way of marketing it, eh? I need to rethink my sales skills. :)

The market price should be whatever someone is willing to pay for a 95' 355 GTS.
Postings that knock higher priced 355's, such as this one.......are exactly what keeps the prices down.
When it comes to F car owners wanting to see an increase in they're car's value, many seem to be they're own worst enemy.
If say a 95' GTS in average, or even below average condition sells for 90K.....think how much more value would be
    in a really clean 98' or 99'.
Forums like Fchat can have a significant effect on the market trends.
Same thing applies to Porsche, Corvette.....NSX prime......etc. etc.

Last I checked you are free to ask whatever you want!
You also never know what someone will pay. My recently purchased 355 spider sold 1 year ago by a Ferrari dealer for $99.5k!

Right now there are hardly any 355's for sale in the country. Ferrari of New England has a '97 GTS w/10K miles going for $89,500. Ferrari of SD has a '99 GTS F1 that was $99 a month ago and is now at $94,900. That is a total of 3 out of the 75-85 F355s currently for sale (Cars.com, ebay, FML, etc.). Good old supply and demand.

And with the departure of 110542 the remaining pool of GTSs continue to dwindle :).

With a 17k service bill, the car should be very, very good. Probably got the valve guides done, and new exhaust manifolds.

I sent an e-mail off to the insurance company. I am waiting to hear back. The response is probably delayed due to the holidays.

Absolutely false - Fchat keeps informed buyers from getting ripped off-whether it is an overpriced car or a problem car-Has nothing to do with the marketable value of any car...Do you think dealers come here and see what prices guys are willing to spend and price their cars accordingly? No way... We could all ban together and say no one sell their 355 for less than $100K - Do you think the value will then increase on these cars? No way

That was my thought as well. Plus, it is a GTS which is scarcer. If I had been searching for a year for a great GTS, and this one came along, I might be tempted to pay a bit over market. (I really wanted a black metallic 308/328, and when the right one came along I think I paid strong retail to get it, rather than haggling and being without a car for another year...)

The 'buy it now' price is a tad optimistic, but as posted above you're allowed to ask whatever you want.

Good point - If the car is really nice and considering it a GTS, nothing wrong with paying a bit extra to get a car you really want... Remember I said a BIT extra..:D

I paid $65k for my '95 GTS 6spd what, 2 months ago? I have another $17k in it to bring it up to the level it should be. So I have $82k in mine and I would darn near call it a 10. Would I pay $82k + for a '95 GTS 6spd (as a whole, up front) sure, if all the proper work is done, documented and the car is needing nothing. In the $90K range....never. The value is just not there. Maybe a later F1, but not an early car.

    Just my .02 cents.

    Tony
