in one of my marketing classes we did a whole unit on old advertising methods...there were a few in there that were actually worse, i remember one in particular that appeared in time, i believe, warning about gonorrhea, that was so bad, i don't know how it got past decency standards back then.
I was having a hard time figuring out what was so creepy about "Ryokan Garden Restaurant" till I realised that wasn't supposed to be one of the creepy old ads. That page is good, but needs to be better organised.
