    OK that makes sense.

I happen to know that 5062 (pictured in pink primer) lived most of its life in Geneva, returning to Doha about 10 years ago. I dont beleive I was ever in England.

Interesting shot. I too wonder if this was raced before. Joe, can you enlighten us with what you know about this car? Looks like it's across the pond for starters...

    You are all wrong :)

As the story goes her late husband was not only the local police commissioner but a farmer upon retirement, so Im not sure if the frontal application was for lights for his motorcade, or nerf bars to push sheep out of the way! Or something - I dont know.

Those bars are a bit too sturdy-looking for Le Mans...

So you are telling me you have no more info on it? Too bad. Sad to see this car die. Still curious about the bars. Is it over seas or not?

The article was from a magazine (poor quality) from the 80's about junkyards. There were some other photos like this with Ferraris, Porsches, Jaguars and some other prestigious cars. They gave no infos about the location of the yards. I cutted the photos out and I think they are really old. I wished it was MY oncle's backyard.

Joe, about Miuras I have only images or articles from magazines. There are undoubtedly some that you don't have (but nothing important I think).
This one (maybe already posted in this thread?) is from an ad in a German magazine.
The b&w photo is from an English magazine (sorry, can't remember the name). Interesting junk behind the factory, I think in the 70's.

Could that have been the garage of Jacques Zuliani who we sadly lost last year?

It will be rescued. Its only a matter of time. I estimate in the last 10 years 75 Miuras have been brought back to life worldwide.

75!? I can't believe that many actually needed restoration. How could anyone mistreat the world's first supercar? :(

In the last 10 years Bobileff alone has restored about 20!

If I estimate the restorations Im aware of in the USA by others, England, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, etc, Id say 75 for the past 10 years is a very conservative number.

Remember all Miuras are between 34 and 40 years old. Frankly Im surprised more havent been restored, and I estimate that of the 762 cars supposedly built, at least another 100 could do with a restoration if the owner had the means or was so inclined... there are many projects we are aware of that are simply languishing, as youve seen on the pages of this thread, and there are many cars that operate but are in dire need.

Now it's time to celebrate the 3000th Post of this wonderful thread.

I allowed myself to put together this video mostly with images posted here
also I picked a song very similar to the MIURA which blends perfectly IMO

it was very , fresh and revolutionary in 1966

even though it sounds just as fresh as it did 40+ years ago .
    Enjoy it

Comments, complaints and suggestions are welcome here.

also I would like to request even more MIURA images specially period , black & white pics, color pics are welcome too. ;)

Another Miura somewhere in France in the early 70's. Number 89 on the licence plate means the owner was living in the Yonne department in Burgundy.
