Not in the cards yet but a possible consideration at some point later in the year. If given the choice ... which one and why? :)

I LOVE the S7, it's very unique and an absolutely STUNNING machine. It's my dream car, but they're known for having issues and I believe that the only place it can be repaired is at Saleen, which is located in California. The Murcielago is probably a better bet, more reliable, and a bit easier to service. I hope whichever you choose is good to you! :)

Edit: Seeing that you live in California, I'd DEFINITELY go for the S7!!!

Saleen...you live in California where the fabric is...so you won´t have problems or issues with it...you just need to take it there...

Based solely on looks and rareness, S7. I like both, but see so many more Lambo's on the road.

Oh Lord forgive me - Lambo... C'mon, it's Italian... Well.... German, but none the less, I would trust the build quality over the S7....

    Best,

I voted for a Murci. Jeremy Clarkson said it best when he compared it to the Gallardo, saying that the Murci took what the Italians did best (the engine), with what the Germans did best (everything else).

The look is, to my eye at least, better as well. The S7 seems to knock you over with its aggressiveness, it is cartoon-like.

Not a huge fan of the Murci as it's, well... huge but, the S7 just has too many slots and vents for my taste. I applaud Saleen for the car, it's made a fine addition to international racing but I think I'd rather have the Murci for a road car. I'd say a road test would have to be in order to make an actual decision.

If I were going with the Walter Mitty side of me I'd go for the Saleen. ;) After all the car has raced at LeMans. The same can't be said for the Murci (at least not that I can remember.)

The S7 may be a great car, but even Saleen himself admits he cribbed the design from the Mclaren F1. I could take or leave the Murci, but at least it is an original design. Would rather have some form of Diablo over either of 'em :)

    LOL! :D

Well ... it's almost a dead heat with the S7 just edging the Murcie by a bit. Very interesting (and differing) opinions! Thanks for all the feedback. I look forward to many more votes one way or the other .... :)

To be truthfull here Id choose a Gallardo over an S7, now the S7 is a great car but I never had any serious interest in it and I have seen one in person and it looks great but to me its not a Lambo. I would take a lambo over anything you name it and id still take the Lamborghini over whatever it is the choice will be.

I've been thinking about the pros and cons of both cars. Whereas one might be more reliable, etc. the other is significantly more rare. I happen to live in an area where one could almost say that Lambos and Ferraris are a "dime a dozen." Perhaps not that bad but certainly common enough to see one or the other (or both) on any given day. On the other hand the S7 is as rare as they come with only 80 to 90 of them built worldwide. Rarity has a strong appeal in my opinion.

From an investment perspective, how much does the S7 depreciate? (yes... I know cars shouldn't be thought of as investments, but moreso as depreciating assets)

I potentially see the Murcielago going down in a few years to what a Diablo goes for nowadays.

I voted for the S7... the Lambo' makes you do a double-take whereas the Saleen makes your head spin! :D

Good-luck in your pursuit of either!

whoops, voted wrong. I'd go with the Murci. I like the looks and the interior better. Of course I'd have to drive both to make a proper decision

If 'rare' takes priority what about a Spyker ?

Better looking than the S7 and just as rare.

If it were me Id get a Ferrari 288 GTO

What he said, although neither one excites me. S7 looks juvenile, Murci looks OK but dated.
