You can buy them in Moscow flea markets. You can try StealBay... Many could be fakes.

I've got two Vostoks. Genuine, as I got them when the SU was still extant. Don't keep time very well at all which is the reason why the SU collapsed. Better as a paperweight than a time piece.

Why do you want one? These are readily available in most open air markets (bizar) in Ukraine, Belarus or Russia. Might be harder to get in the US though...

I have a fascination with the cold war, the history, etc., especially the Soviet Union and I love watches.

Then take a trip to Russia fast. In 5 years all the "cold war" evidence will disapear.

Unfortunately, not a possibility. What's brewing over there?

Give www.russarmy.com a try. I have no affiliation, but just bought 2 watches from them and was very pleased. I bought a buch of watches for myself and friends when I was over there adopting our girls. Found out I could buy the same thing here a better price.

These look like nice watches but they are currently being produced. I think he is looking for vintage cold war era watches. Sportsman's Guide usually has some vintage stuff from time to time and maybe US Cavalry and other places that sell military surplus.

    Look for a GUB Glashutte.

They seem to be decent watches and were made in West Germany by what is now Glashutte Original. They go for a few hundred bucks but they are vintage Iron Curtain and probably better watches then what you find floating around in open bazaars.
