Found in my archives , scans from paper prints (sorry for the quality) : I've already posted some pictures of SVJ 5100 shot during a car expo Museum in France near Paris in a previous post on this thread. I've found two additional photos of it in my archives. It was in feb.91 And also a black P400 for sale during this period at STRAIGHT EIGHT in UK Bruno Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Bruno, Thanks as always for posting. BTW, the dark car registered "YDP 808" is actually in "Blu Notte Metallizzato" and it is a P400S chassis number "4362". It is the 436th Miura built. Note that 5100 is in fact a standard SV. In recent years it has been converted to an SVJ. This car was the replacement for the crashed 4956 which was also a standard SV. Joe www.joesackey.com
This is a record sleeve from an italian artist (Rocky Roberts e i Pyranas) vinile 06.03.1968... you can buy one on Ebay... Philippe www.lamborghinimiura.com
Completed at the Sant Agata wortks on December the 9th 1969. Supplied to Zurich-based official Lamborghini concessionaire, Karl Foitek. The 451st Miura built with chassis number "4368", its is a P400S. Inspected at Villa D'Este Concororso D'Eleganza, Swiss-registered "VD 40175" (Vaude?) "Arancio" paint with "pelle Nera" interior and the same colors are listed in the factory production register as the original colors applied at priduction by Bertone. No mention of the white central stripe... SV rear wheels now fitted. Joe www.joesackey.com
Thanks for taking the time to post. "OPW 8 F" is the first RHD Miura I think... Joe www.joesackey.com
The original-ish as it was was once blue P400 reg OPW 8F in my very poor quality and badly composed photo was recently (2005) seen in UK as part of a 3 way supercar test against a later "S" and the rebuilt Roberto Giordanelli (Non SV) SV car. Still looking very well with little to show in the way of milage (kilometerage?) & cared for by owner Colin Gilmore Merchant and excellent UK miura specialist Colin Clarke. The car is prod. #110 & RHD which makes other claims of the first RHD as late as #181 (reg OVM 8H) seems somewhat spurious but then I've seen & heard wilder claims amongst miura watchers. What's the "book" say on the matter? Was this a test ;-) Bax.
I threw a shot of a mangusta into the mix as from my experience the De Tomasso car is often linked with the miura by motoring enthusiasts - if only in terms of which should be considered as the worlds most beautiful automobile - Some years ago (and not that many) I was offered at the time I bought my Miura a tidy looking banana yellow example at a time when the market was low and funds were not. I never tired of looking at either but without a doubt when both cars were together the lines of the miura made the mangusta look a very poor second. Sadly one had to go and it was the mangusta that thankfully found a new home & with a true marque enthusiast - 2008 should see both cars meet again & if this comes to pass I promise to take someone along who knows what end of a camera use. bax
Purely a setup shot. Mechanic appears to be intent on tightening/loosening a velocity stack on a fully assembled motor on a flatbed cart. Probably just pretending (he might be the photographers assistant pretending to be a technician, LOL). The miscellaneous wrenches, pliers etc. in the foreground make an interesting juxtaposition (chaos vs perfection) but in fact have little to do with the engine on the cart.
This is a kind of a mystery Miura. I have scanned these pictures that I have received from a co-worker who owned this Miura from the early to mid 1980s in Switzerland. He stated to me that it was a Miura SV but does not remember the chassis number nor has he yet found copies of the car documentation. Noteworthy details on this SV: Headlight surround application as seen on Miura prototype S/N 4758 and first production SVs and early style Bertone badges. Its likely an early SV, possibly chassis number 4846. Antoine Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
