The most beautiful four door automobile ever designed perhaps......and it's environmentally friendly.......and it has all the performance a sedan would ever need. It looks exactly the way the Porshe Panamera should look, but from what I've seen in spy photos that's going to look more like a long wheel base Prius. It looks exactly the way the Aston Martin Rapide should look, but for the most part that just looks like a DB9 with two extra doors (which is fairly cool but not very creative.) Fisker sure does know design.

I know, I know, it only has a top speed of 125 mph but seriously, when was the last time you were driving your S class or Quatroporte along at 130 mph (barring all the Autobahn users on FChat of course.) 125 mph in a sedan is about 25 mph more than anyone could possibly need so I beleive it's plenty. I only hope production actually begins and it will be acceptably reliable.

    Any extra information of oppinions?

whoa. Ugly nose. Looks like that bizarro Chinese car. Or a catfish.

The side profile and rear quarters look nice though.

Hah. I've never thought of it as looking like a mustache but I guess I can see that. That's Fisker's signature grille designed after the F-22 Raptor fighter jet.

So Fisker has used this "signature" before in their other (presumably successful) projects? Tell me more.

The word mustache did not at first come to my mind either - the words "sardonic smile" were what immediately surfaced.

BTW, I always thought the F-22, while it may indeed be a great airplane, as not nearly as pretty as say an F-16.

BTW2, funny how people can see a little Rorshak in the grille of a car (kind of like with clouds)? They say the designers of the Edsel saw "classic car, Mercedes-like" - but the public cruelly saw either "horse collar" or "toilet seat ring".

Looks good except for mustache. Provided it doesn't have major reliability problems--which is a big concern for such a technology-laden vehicle, especially considering the target market (which brings up the question of what is the Fisker dealer network like?)--and a price point of $80k, I can see it selling quite well. I'd sure as hell want that Fisker in my garage before any of the Lexus hybrids. And with the Porsche Panamera, and maybe Jag XF and Benzes, having hybrid drivetrain in the next few years, the "sporty-luxury-eco-sedan" segment should be interesting.

I hate that name Karma also, makes me think of something like a Geo Metro!! ugh.

...if they're going to design a sophisticated car, at least give it a more elegant name?

Maybe they need some further meditation on both the name, and of course that shnozzola.

Perhaps the Geo people could reply back with the Geo Tao?

I don't like the grill but that wouldn't keep me from owning one. :) I'd like to see how it stands up in a crash test, front and side, without any B-pillar.

Agreed on it looking nice besides the grill. Although... the hood reminds me of a curvy Gran Turismo-front.

I beleive that Henrik Fisker designed the BMW Z8 and maybe even the Z3 so it's understandable that it would have a lot of those lines.

Previously the Fisker company has rebodied 6 series BMWs and Mercedes SLs and are respectively known as the Latigo CS and the Tramonto. They both have the same grille. Check out their website at www.fiskercb.com

Fisker had a part in the design of the Aston Martin that has a similar front end to his "Tramonto" which must be Italian for "Trout Mouth".

Other than the "signature" front ends all of his cars look pretty good. Problem is he butchers them with that schnozzola and the end result is You Ga Lie (That is Ugly with a capital U!)

I know what to do with it now...what we do is to take it to Chris Bangle to have it rebodied, and then straight on over to the Jesse James team as a project car.

If this guy were God, and it was up to him to design Eve, she would have turned out to be Celine Dion.

I'll bet that they know each other, they are probably drinking buddies. Of course consumption of lots of adult beverages might explain why both of these guys seem to create things that are ugly, ever tried to do design work with a severe hangover???..

Let's see, if he could get Chris to "Bangle" the back end and keep the front as it is, would it be considered "double ugly"???

I would rather do my drinking with actress Ellen Barkin, thanks.

Overall I like the car but needs to smooth out some of the lines the lines a bit to depart from the BMW Z style. Some odd shapes too... and the grill has to go.

Are we still talking about the same car? I have a feeling that if this car had the badge of one of the established luxury manufacturers most of the people trashing it would love it. The font end is kind of strange but there have been quite a few great cars with bizarre front ends. Ever looked at a Miura head on? What about a 599? I could continue but theres no point. A car isnt made or broken by it's front fascia.

And yes, it shares some lines with other cars Fisker has had a hand in designing but as any designer will tell you, the things that they create all invariably share a few features. On top of that all of Fisker's most famous designs belong to some of the most beautiful cars in existence. Why mess with success? So this car looks like a Z8 and DB9 had a child that somehow got two extra doors? Sounds like a damn good looking child to me....... and it's practical.

So you can't critisize it's front end because there are some amazing cars with weird front ends. You also can't critisize it for sharing lines with other Fisker designed cars because those cars are gorgeous. What else do you have?

Hah. Pardon the rant. When I first saw the Karma I was more in awe than I had been by the design of a car in a long time. I just can't beleive people don't like it. I dont think my taste is that bad. Also, I wasnt referring to anyones comment directly, just the general direction of the negative comments.

Well, the general direction of the negative comments would indicate what I think would be the popular reaction to something that looks like that grille. The people that said it was ugly, (and I was certainly one of them), do not hate Fisker per se, (or you for liking it, of course)...but here is the deal:

If you are an artist, and you make a piece of art, and you exhibit it to the public, you have to accept the reaction of the critics, the buyers, and the general public.

This thing to me is kind of like a Jackson Pollock; a few might see great art down in the dribbles and splashes he made, I in turn prefer Escher, Monet, or the classic Dutch Masters.

Again as I said, I really like the car, save the front grill treatment. Other then that, it looks great! I wouldn't mind one of those for a daily run around at all!
