    Dear Comrades,

Which make, or make and model of watch would be perceived as commensurate with an F-40? I need to know this for when I win the lottery within the next three months and will then require a quality timepiece to go with the F-40 LM. I really must obtain all the correct accoutrements and don't want to get caught with my pants down and not knowing what to spend the money on. Should I acquire a Phillip Patel or a Bolex?

    With kind regards,

    512 Tea Are

    Dear Comrade SimonF40,

Say, for example, the worst should happen, and the lottery win was shared amongst many others, and the only recourse would be for me to go for the default option of an F-40 LM Replica. In such a circumstance, would it then be satisfactory to have a Gerald Perregaux replica. Bear in mind, please, that this would only be the case should the worst happen.

And do you know if a replica of the aforementioned watch would be available, and if so, to whom should I apply?

    Thank you for kind attention.

    With kind regards,

    Dear Comrade Simon F40,

Isn't this Gerald Perreguax atually a specific F-40 watch? When RufMD acquired his, did he buy it on tick?

    With kind regards,

    Hey Graham,

I bought one of these new about 2 yrs ago and it was from a certified dealer in Florida, complete with papers etc. They were a limited edition of 500 pieces of which only 200 had both the "F40" logo and shield on the watchface. Each is numbered and has a nice etching of the F40 car on the back.... it is quite a nice piece...I have been very happy with it.

It has an msrp of 11.5k, but can be had for less and I sometimes see one for sale on ebay. In fact, this one is for sale now, but it is in Australia....which means there is a certain amount of trust involved in transfers etc.

It comes in a beautiful Ferrari red lacquer box, complete with warranty papers and documentation of authenticity...above all, it really is a nice watch IMHO. I'm sure you could find one at a dealer.

Until this morning, I was reasonably content having books, tools, records and luggage. :(

    Will,

Years ago someone asked Jay Leno why he didnt have any Ferraris at all in his 75-car collection?

He thought about it for a moment and replied folornly: "Where would I put all the books, literature, memorabilia, accessories etc etc etc that come with the cars???"

So true. I really am not a collector and, though I enjoy concours, have little desire to enter my cars. I find myself on eBay - for the 50s cars in particular - buying sales brochures, magazines with relevant articles, period photographs, and so on. I am compelled to collect - though "collect" suggests an element of connoisseurship I lack. The last thing I need is an F40 watch - and yet ....

    Dear Comrades,

Does anyone know whether Patek Phillipe make any Ferrari themed watches?

I dont think so . Cartier , Girrard Perregaux and now Panerai are the ones who work/worked with Ferrari .

I dont see Patek as the kind of brand who would make any themed watches ?

    Dear Comrade amenasce,

Yes, on reflection I think you're likely to be absolutely correct.
