its endemic amongst most dino owners. When the previous owner of my car spent a considerable fortune restoring it he saw fit to stick a FERRARI badge on the luggage lid as well as a cavallino on the back side. Just to make sure they don't fall off, holes were drilled into the body!!!! So I'm afraid I stuck with them unless I decide to do the paint again . So if you see mine on the road Ian, it wasn't me !!!!!!!!
Hi Andrew, Long time no see. Do you know anything about the McClaren F1 in Plimmerton? I've heard rumours of it for years, but never actually seen it. Is it just an urban myth? Callum
Saw a white R8 today at ardmore airport this morning. The white didn't exactly tickle my fancy. I have a feeling these machines are going to start popping up quite a lot over the next few years.
There is a silver R8 with grey stripe in the Wellington dealership. Looks amazing! Saw this on the motorway heading north of Wellington yesterday evening. Amazing car. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Its the same car I saw@Independent driver trainning in late OCT last year.Been told by sales man that owner bought the car a day before the driver trainning day..Rushed down to TAUPO to join it.. Image Unavailable, Please Login
There's an R8 living in Whangaparaoa, looks awesome with those LED's on up front. Also saw 599 in Matakana Saturday.
Anyone else heading along to Pukekohe this weekend? (or taupo the following weekend?) Will be an action packed weekend, seeing the F5000s in action, Brian Day's 308 and Gordon Burr's 512bb in the Classic Trial, and my brother (#86) in the BMW E30 class! A full list of cars and series' running can be viewed at www.grandprix.org.nz main page
My friend Neil is entered in three of those categories. Sadly I cant go though. Look out for the two awesome McLarens Jonny! Definatly can't miss the M22 in its orignal McLaren Oragne livery.
Trust that to happen the weekend I shift from Pukekohe to Conifer Grove, Papakura! Oh well, at least my new flatmate and I have entered my MR2 and his MRS in the Concours d'elegance Fun Run on 9th February going to Cooks Landing. There were some Ferraris on the run I drove on last year to a winery out west.
I use to live in Conifer Grove a few years ago, such a sweet place to live with very friendly locals. (also - its hardly an excuse not to attend puke tihs weekend only ~20 minute drive!)
I've been pitcrewing for my bro (#86 E30) the past two weekends at Pukekohe followed by Taupo. both were action packed weekends with lots of exciting and mostly clean racing. Some pics from the Tasman revival series at Pukekohe two weekends ago Maserati Merak from the classic trial Wow this car is pretty, reminds me of a Ferrari P. (Chevron B16) E30 M3 Evo III in the parking lot and its older bro (the Evo II) by the grandstand A 360 parked up behind the Ford Mountain grandstand Under the hood of Mike Delmont's BMW WTCC 320i 512BB on the front row can anyone identify this? seems to me like a 308 front engined kitcar inside of an BMW E30 after a slight off track excersion Dino Wedge and A few snaps from the weekend just been, down at Taupo mixed BMWs lining up for prac Carl Hanson's devilish TVR (world's fastest) Mike Delmont's BMW 320i WTCC Car a purdy GT3 cup car BMW E30 series lining up for their reverse grid Gerry Hodges' BMW 635csi - holy crap i love this paint scheme Maserati GranTurismo in the carpark a few F5000s 512BB
Nice pics Jonny. Saw that TVR down at Manfield at the NZ Grand Prix. Sounds nothing what I thought a TVR would sound like, but I love it!
