Hope they don't review boring American cars and if they do I hope they tell it like it is. ;)

After stealing the "Dancing with the Stars" show from BBC, now we are stealing cars too?

I think they should offer the show over here. It should be advertised and just have the presenters film one show for two audiences. It'd be hard to find people that could put on as good a show as Jeremy, Hammond, and James.

On the subject of location, the article stated thaat it would be in the LA, area.

I don't agree, it should be in SE MI, around Detroit. Willow Run Airport, can be used for the location of the track, and Michigan International Speedway, is an hour down the road, if you need a high speed oval, and a twisty drive, to get to it. The cars would be trucked in most cases though.

We have some of the most bombed out roads in the nation, and best of all we have ice and lots of snow, and best of all "black ice," to try and kill you. LA, doesn't have that!

    Ciao...Paolo

It could make it here in the U.S.A.
If they get the right people.
Those English bloke's are perfect for there show.
They don't tell the truth a lot of the time, and I still love the show.
    Its all about the charisma.

Actually, yes it does; about an hour's drive to the Lake Arrowhead area in the San Bernadino mountains. Great twisty roads up there, too.

Regardless, I anticipate the transition of "Top Gear" from the BBC to Hollywood will be similar to that of Japan's "Iron Chef" to "Iron Chef America" (which sucks, IMHO).

nothing is gonna beat the original.

Clarkson, May, and Hammond are the best!

The american is just gonna be about POS mustangs, and corvettes, so why should I carE? The stig would probably be a fat guy.

Having stayed away from the long thread in general Ferrari topics, let me just say this -

I have gotten about as sick and tired of the English original as of Orange County Choppers and Jesse James.

It was kind of train-wreck funny for a while, but they have beat their poor little dog down & dead, IMHO.

So I can only cringe with horror at what American TV could do to it now.

Why does everyone think their only going to do American cars?
The English show doesn't just do English cars!!!
Like I said before it will be good if they get the right people.

NBC is horrible other than Conan. Notre Dame football, ice skating competitions, Top Gear AMERICA, etc. Will they get anything right?

More like cars sold in America. That takes away a lot of cars.

They'll probably have some slob with a hoagie in his mouth hosting the show. Or a couple of really stiff guys with no personalities, talking about safety, and how you should always abide by the speed limit.

The great thing about Clarkson and co is that they are kinda macho and un-PC but not in a grating or unpleasant way. A US show would either be too polite "yes m'aam" or too Jerry Springer.
