Finally I have a photo of the car that does it justice. Having spent the last 4+ years behind the wheel of my '72 246GT, I took an offer I couldn't refuse and sold her to a new home. I expect she'll get the kind of care she deserves. When I went to Algar Ferrari a couple weeks ago to talk cars in general, this was sitting on the showroom floor looking for a new home. 2000 360 Modena, Titanium with black interior, manaul transmission. Took it for a test drive. FELL COMPLETELY IN LOVE and bought it on the spot. I've driven some fast, powerful cars before, but nothing compares to the look, feel, smell, and drive that this car provides. It took the sting out of the loss of the Dino, well most of it anyway. Algar made me a very fair deal on the car, treated me like a king, (They always do) and I'm thrilled to be joining the modern car guys here. I'll be hanging around here quite a bit, sucking up as much knowledge as possible from you guys. That's me in the driver seat, and another fchatter riding shotgun. Dave M. Congratulation on your new F360 6spd. Your experience was similar to mine. I was in Los Gatos CA and decided to drop by Silicon Valley Auto Group. I was only taking a look at their inventory and saw their only 6spd manual 360. Took it for a test drive in the hills of Los Gatos and fell immediately in love with the car. Oh the sound it made. Lo and behold, I purchased it on the spot after some negotiating. Take some time to get to know your new car. With tremendous help from other F360 owners and Board Sponsors, I upgraded my wheels, cats, and exhaust. Now it sounds even better. Happy motoring!!! Judging by the photos, I don't see any skid plates up front. May I suggest that be one of your first upgrades to protect your car from scraping.
Dave, Congrats!! Will we see it at the Reading show???? One more 360 for me to compete with!!!! LOL! Any mods planned?? Robert
Superdave: "How do you turn on the heat?" Guest: "I don't know, how about this button?" Superdave: "That's the window" Guest: "How about this button?" Superdave: "C'mon, you don't push STOP to start the heat? Do you?"
Upgrades - nope. Downgrades - gonna rip out the 9000 lbs of stereo upgrades. Anyone want a couple high end amps, equalizers and a really nice subwoofer setup wrapped in leather that fits behind the seats? Our quizical looks? Probably was trying to figure out how to get the flip up screen on the radio to flip down! But could have been, "What's this do?" kind of question for one of the dash switches. Don't recall. Might have been, "Where's first gear again?" Will it be at Reading? YUP. I plan to put it in platinum condition by then, just like the Dino was. Difference is I'll probably be helping to judge the Dinos, now that I don't have one. But I will miss the 246GT, it was a great little car. Biggest differences? Dino was driven flat out to squeeze the best possible performance out of it. Mash the gas and go. Try that with a 360 on the street and see where it gets you. That and the creature comforts. Power windows that are, A/C that is, seats that adjust, radio that actually gets stations and I can hear it. And that amazing view of the motor out the back window. DM
Congrats Dave!!!! Beautiful shot, love it. I will just pick up mine next week. Cant wait for the same experience you described...
Your car is beautiful, that is exactly what I'm looking for when I get a 360! Titanium or Grigio-Titanio, black interior, and a 6-speed. Perfect !!
NICE ****IN CAR !!!!!!!!!!!! best of luck with it. Tons of room in that thing too !! They have some serious power, dont they........ enjoy the hell out of it !! I ve been pining one again, maybe in the spring. Im thinking 360 spider, but who knows. Its getting close for me to take another beating on a car. ps. Hey, isnt that Noah riding shotgun ?
+1... haha.. I'd like to think we really are welcome DM Lovely car.. I couldn't have bought a better color 360 myself! kudos on the 6 speed manual. Ray
Um, no. He was there last weekend, but he pretty much kept to himself. I yelled hello across the parking lot, but I guess he didn't see or hear me. After all, I'm dead to him, right? The guy in the passenger seat, if you read my post carefully, is a CURRENT F Chatter, and Noah does not qualify as a CURRENT F Chatter, does he? DM
