Kieth, ... at least you live in Alberta, by the far the best place in Canada tax-wise...... and for sure lower taxes than most of Europe (esp. when you take into consideration the sales / VAT tax). Once the GST is lowered again (maybe it already happened?), the total sales tax in Alberta (5%) will actually be lower than here in Florida (6%)!.... and the flat income tax is better than any other province if you are in the higher income level. Ontario and the rest of the country, however, have a LONG way to go. I sure liked paying 6% tax when I bought my car here v.s 14 or 15% , in Ontario. Absolutely REDICULOUS for a province that has a total monopoly on liquor and beer sales....... Here's some food for thought: You have an interest and have learned about fine wines. Your dream, as an entrepreneur, is to one day open your own specialty wine store, creating a unique niche market in your region. The Ontario government has deemed this idea such a menace to society that it is ILLEGAL...... socialist bastards 100%...... but the people keep voting the liberals in, so thats exactly what they deserve. Tax and business wise, Alberta is by FAR the best. Natural beauty, climate, and lifestyle, Vancouver wins. No reason to live in Toronto/Ontario/Quebec/Manitoba/East Coast, etc when you can enjoy visiting and then enjoy leaving. Just my $.02.

Well the only water avilable in Australia is up north (Darwin, Broome and Cairns), the wet season drenches the land there. In the southen states (Victoria, NSW and SA) theres is a massive drought. Brisbane is already dried up, I think they are on level 5 restrictions (cant wash your car period, only can wash mirrors and windows with a sponge). Melbourne's water is at 39% and falling. I heard Canada also has cheap cars. In Australia Ford, Holden and Toyota are local car makers, so the tariffs on European cars are expensive. As an example expect to pay around $200 K + for a 360 Modena and around $400 K for 430! BMW M3 is around $150 K and the new Nissan GTR will be $150 K... I saw nice newish Mercs in Canada for like 18 grand... wow. They are around 40-50 K here.
You can visit them (The Gracie's) during your stay in Brazil. BTW, I suggest taking a leisurely stroll on Rio's hillside. People there are VERY friendly!

They're cheaper stateside but MOST Canadian cars usually have better mechanical conditions. Bodies (MOSTLY) are usually s**t though.
