I think not....Victoria (just a couple of hours outside Melbourne) has some superb skiing in winter (July/August).

Also:

In last year's ranking of the best cities in the world to live in, Australia had 4 in the top ten (Melbourne was #1, Sydney, Adelaide and Perth). Canada had only 2: Vancouver (was #2) and Toronto. Switzerland had 2 as well (Geneva and Zurich), and the remaining 2 were Copenhagen and Vienna. Montreal was in 16th place, due mainly to its neglected infrastructure (roads that are worse than in many 3rd world countries).

That is quite true. I was at Mt Hotham (4 hour drive out of Melbourne) and the snow on the mountains (in winter) was awesome. The temp was around -3 and 0 (celsius).

But there are much closer places like Mt Bulla which is like 2 hours drive like you said.

Australia and Canada rule :D

Good afternoon ladies and gentlemen..........

JOEV......

In regards to what I posted originally, you have by your posts in regards to it, basically accepted that what I said is true......however, the fact that it may occur in another country (one of your weak defenses) does not make it acceptable. You have not included these points in your later posts, simply because you are to busy with something else that I will elaborate on later down in this post.

That part of the debate is closed IMHO.

You don't like the things which I pointed out with these truths obviously......but you are also unable to rebut them with facts logic and reason. Seems like that you are mad at me for saying so, and for that..........you have played "Godwins Law". Fair enough.......and that is easy to deal with.......so, as I see no internet posse ganging up on me for my remarks, and especially after they saw yours filled with personal attacks in lieu of the aforesaid lack of facts, logic and reason, I will openly state that it is my opinion wherein the readers here are not idiots and have a very good level of comprehension and an exceptional understanding of human logic.......

Perhaps you should read this editorial in today's Calgary Herald..........I think it is too much for you....however it is worth a try.

http://tinyurl.com/2judns

Now......on to the other part of your rant......

Liberal indoctrination consists of these 5 pillars of their ideology.....they are, in no particular order, as follows......

1-Denial of realiy
2-Thought control
3-Projection of guilt
4-Hysteria
5-Name calling

You have openly expressed every single one of these in your posts. In fact, pretty much all the things/issues I posted are mainly as a result of liberal concepts/policies or actions dreamed up and implemented over the years in Canada......yet you attempt to defend them. Me thinks there is a reason for this.......and below you will be forced you to accept one of two positions......

A-You are not a conservative at all....you are a liberal saying you are a conservative, in order to attempt to impune my argument. A common tactic on internet BB's BTW. That would make you a liar. This is not a personal attack, it is merely a statement of position using a descriptive word.

B-You are a conservative, and that means Rush Limbaugh was right.......again..........in that he said Canadian conservatives are politically speaking, the same ideologically as US democrats. Alberta not included.......were are the Texas of Canada. :D

So it seems now that you have a bitter pill to swallow.......publicly say you are a liar......or say Rush was right. :p

If you are going to attack someone online Joe you must remember to first find someone who is at or below your intellectual level in order that you come out on top and do not end up looking like a fool.....again.......and in this case you have not done so.....again.

So, with that sorted I am done with this thread and bid you all a hearty good night for it is -5 here and snowing like all hell.

Well geez if you say so professor. Your ability to read “abc” and see “cba” is astounding.

What bizarro world do you inhabit? The readers here are definitely not idiots and I’m sure you’ve noticed that fewer and fewer people bother challenging you on the garbage you post. In your twisted world, you convince yourself that it’s because they agree with you. The reality I suspect is that most people are so fed up with your endless crap that they either i) don’t take the bait or ii) have you on their Ignore Lists. As for the internet posse, you know that won’t happen in the CDN section because most regular posters just see you for the joke that you are and don’t bother.

http://tinyurl.com/2judns

My God what a pompous ass you are! “…too much for me”? Are you effing kidding? Who the hell are you to talk down to anyone? I have read your gibberish over the years and I know you to be a simple-minded, knuckle-dragging racist moron trying desperately (and failing miserably) to appear like some kind of a well-read intellectual.

Sounds like the Karl Rove, Ann Coulter, Mark Steyn playbook to me. So when you call people every racist name in the book (e.g. Muslim/Moslem = Sand Ngger), you’re engaging in what exactly? Intellectual discourse? Maybe on an Ann Coulter BB.

Where in God’s name did I attempt to defend anything that liberals have done to this country? I have been crystal clear in my contempt for all things liberal from uncontrolled immigration (esp Muslim), to affirmative action to political correctness, to the Dept of Indian Affairs etc ad nauseum. Like I said before, reading comprehension is definitely not your strong suit. You’re so busy foaming at the mouth and cutting and pasting “zingers” that other people have used that you actually can’t comprehend what is on the page in front of you. As you would say, I think it’s “too much for you” actually.

Well if a proven compulsive liar and hypocrite like Rush says something, it must be true. Sort of like when your hero Ann Coulter makes up the footnotes for her books.

What logic! Are you on medication?

LOL!!!!!!! Keith – again, how in God’s name did you decide you were some kind of an intellectual? Just because rivee says you are? Must be great for your self-esteem though. Problem is, you’re completely and utterly deluded.

I doubt that.

Why don’t you answer my questions that you have not answered?

If you hate Canada so much, why did you come here with your wife instead of staying in the perfect paradise that is Brazil?

If you hate Canada so much, why the hell are you still here?

Does said immigrant wife hate Canada as much as you do? Well, tell that ingrate to get the **** out of my country.

How come none of your American ultra-right wing pals has helped you with the green card you’ve been grovelling for? Isn’t it because they hate traitors too?

When you leave (and that day can’t come soon enough), please take pictures of you burning your passport like you’ve always said you would. I know you won’t, because just like those Lebanese “Canadians” you will come scurrying back when the going gets tough, and probably expect the rest of us to pick up the tab.

I see the problems and work to fix them. That makes me a conservative patriot and a good citizen.

You see the problems and i) crap all over Canada at every opportunity ii) grovel for a green card for years iii) keep saying how you will leave “Kanaduh” as soon as possible and burn your passport when you do (yet you’re still here). That makes you a traitor, and hypocrite and a parasite.

Big talk from an Internet tough guy / message board bully. Unsurprisingly, there is nothing under the bluster. Just a pathetic angry little man.

Chinese shootings? Italian shootings? Is there a difference between a regular shooting? :)

Anyways, I agree there are issues to be dealt with. Especially with the bloke that got shot at on Yonge St just a few days ago. How can the shooter have a legal gun at 22?

However, being born, raised and living downtown Toronto I still feel safe. There are the bad areas everywhere you go in the country as well as shootings etc. There is a huge concentration of people so what do you want? You gotta be a bit street smart over all. Unlike the out of town 905'ers that can't even tackle a parking spot on a busy road.
