Yeah, but I thought these were the most interesring for this forum. At the time of this visit, Anthony had a few (!) 206S's, a Birdcage, and a bunch of ehgines and stuff from the old factory junk pile. He had his driver, Willie Green, give me a fast ride in the 206S, as I had just purchased mine (002) but hadn't put it together yet. Willie is one fast driver! Them was the dayz!
2 GTO s same version or 63 & 64? i know that he has a beautifull collection of Fcars, need to check.... Sir A Bamford is a collector or conservator? and concerning yourself much more collector?
I'm not sure what the difference between a collector or conservator, nut he's definitely a collector. He al;so restores his cars and some of them are raced on a regular basis, so they don't just sit in the stately garage. Amongst the many Ferraris he's owned (and he still owns many) are; 166Inter 010I 212 Inter 0197 512S/M 1030, 1042 206S 004, 010, 024, 030 250SWB 2119 250GTO 3527, 3767, 3909, 3413, 4399, 250LM 6119, 5907, 250TR 0774, 0752 365GTC 12249 DAYTONA 14103 DAYTONA COMP 15681 412P 0854 246F1 003 and there's probably a few others.............. "Hi Ed, Was the car in your pictures below definitely the Dixon car, or was this the car you bought from Meade in Modena in December 1967 and sold to Ron Tonkin? The Dixon car was definitely 3771GT while the Tonkin car that you previously owned was 1777GT." Hello Jarret: If you look closely you can see that the windshield on the Dixon car is tilted up: the sides of the bottom are higher up than the center: this was a somewhat crude way to give more eyeball survival room after 1777 was deemed too risky by many but not all in refence to how close the little side window was to the head of the occupants. What is interesting is that Dixon told me that he ordered vinyl seats as his budeget was not limitless and these seats look like leather (but what do I know: can anyone tell?) The chrome is not yet on the headlights so I think thse photos were a progress report by Tom or just Ed documenting what Tom was up to. great to see these which I never had before: thanks Ed! In the middle is Lorenzo BANDINI and in the hospital bed is Ludovico SCARFIOTTI. I think the second man from the left is also a pilot but can't put a name on it...

If I remember it well, someone asked for a photo of the 166 SC with a spare weel on the back at the Targa Florio 1949. I came across this picture this morning. I don't know the copyright so.... The drivers mentioned at this picture were Vallono Sighinolfi. Kind regards Image Unavailable, Please Login

I make no apologies for re-posting (below) Boudewijn's scan of that wonderful image from back at the beginning of December. It's taken me a while, but I finally found the original source of it - rather closer to home than I had expected. The image was reproduced in a 'bookazine' last year, entitled: '60 Years of Ferrari', published jointly by Evo and Octane magazines. It was printed in the bottom L.H. corner of page 216 approximately 4" x 3½", and as best as I can tell - the source was uncredited. The image was supplied to Evo-Octane by Doug Nye's Grand Prix Library ©, and is (it goes without saying) strictly Doug Nye's copyright, and should obviously not have been published without his prior permission. But thanks to Boudewijn all the same - both for the 'heads up', and giving me the incentive to track down the source of the photo. I just got off the phone with Doug Nye - after a pleasant and helpful chat, as always. Doug told me that the photo was taken by Ferrari team manager Franco Lini (possibly a little tipsy on Champagne, at the time), from the roof of the pit garages in the Daytona paddock, following the 24 Hours - not back at Maranello (at the subsequent press photo session), as both Boudewijn and I had incorrectly assumed. The gravelled paddock surface would indicate that. Prints of the photo are available from Doug Nye. Email: [email protected] Image Unavailable, Please Login
Here are a few pix of 0888, 0892 and 0896 (and transporter) taken by me at LM 1973. Thanks again to Jarrett for digitizing. One of the pix shows 0896 running---I wish I had soundies, as the noise was staggering! More later, of Daytonas at the same event. P4Replica assures me this is a good idea. Frankly, I am not so sure. I'm not very good at this internet malarkey on an unfamiliar site but here goes. We have no serious objection to fellow enthusiasts enjoying these low-resolution scans from our 1.7-million-plus image archive, but will take ACUTE exception to anyone seeking to profit from same. Nothing like drawing a line in the sand upon our first appearance on this website... Sorry about that...but identify and enjoy anyway...IF these attachments come out.
